Anthem Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 This topic is to post strategies for Deadman Mode, which is coming to OSRS on Oct 29th. There are certainly mixed opinions on whether to try it or not, but please don't bring those into this topic. Deadman Mode is set in the world of Old School Runescape but with a seperate rule set - this includes: Open PvP - PvP will be enabled everywhere on the map. Town Protection - Safe zones will be created in cities and villages. Any player who enters these safe zones when skulled will be attacked by high level guards (and they will kill you). Death - When you die you will lose 50% of your XP. Loss of Progress - You can protect up to 5 skills at a time so you don’t lose any XP in these skills. (limited to 2 combat skills only) Bank Raiding - When you are killed by a player, they will be able to raid your bank for one inventory worth of items. Insurance - You will be able to insure your items so they can’t be raided, however if you die when wearing them they will automatically drop on the floor. Accelerated Progression - You will receive 5 times the XP you normally would. Most people are in agreement that protecting range/defence will be a safe start. What about secondary skills like herblore, farming, fishing, construction, etc? What quests will be best to do first, what places will be safe, what items to insure? Post strategies here.

Mikitka Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Really depends on what they mean by choose skills to protect as in... will it be you pick initially and your stuck with those? Or you can change those skills as you go. BUT most likely getting range/def obviously and then depends who I am grouped with. Fishing/cooking seems like it would make initial sense
Rolexx Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Get a FOE squad going This ^ I suggest we give eachother backup incase one of us gets skulled. also, luring will be really effective on this server. And spies.. We need some 007's that go undercover in some random team, tell us their locs etc. (they'll prolly move in teams so they'll be clumped = easy loot) Also if you're really bored just camp quest spots.
Xander Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Range/def/hp 3 stats I'd keep. HP should be an auto-keep tbh, you'll have guys with high combat stats that they kept, but got fucked over and went back to 10hp. No thanks.
