Doberman's are plagued with health issues, Not sure about the other two what about a German Shepherd? They are very easy to train.

Also make sure your breeder is a good one if you get a puppy, Too many arseholes only in it for the money.

Owned a few staffys (got one currently), problem I've faced with them is that they can climb a 7 foot fence and run away (even immediately after walking them). Probably not something you're going to want to deal with.

I also had two doberman cross rottweilers when I was young. Both were extremely loyal and well behaved in the way of being "guard dogs" that never attacked. They lived full lives of 16 & 14 years and I'm yet to of had any other dogs that were as obedient as they were.

Uncle also owned a Pittbull. They tend to get a lot of hate from people (especially in Australia) and are labelled as vicious but that's dependent on how shit of an owner they have. Extremely territorial but if disciplined by the owner, they can be no more dangerous than a Chihuahua.

depends on how your schedule.

how much free time you got?

only you going to be tending to the pup?

do you have $$ for food, shots, etc?

have enough space for your pup to run around for excerise? ( or walk it whenever u have free time? )

just need a dog around the house for security

I'm only back home like once or twice a month for a weekend at max, mum and dad will look after the dog for the most part

got plenty of space (big house, big garden) - haven't looked into prices for shots/insurance etc but money for food and that is fine

Current Staffy just gets excited whenever it sees people, whenever someone tries to pet her she just rolls over. Only time she gets aggressive is when my other dog tries to bully her for her food or blanket.

Pretty sure my previous one was less of a lovable coward but that's too long ago.

Can't really go wrong with any of the breeds suggested above, its all about personal preference.

I'd definitely get a puppy though, especially if its your first dog ever.

Had a german shepard they are solid guard dogs, but anyways any dog is only going to be good if you have the time to put in work to train the dog.

If you don't I would already get a trained dog. I just got a puppy about 2 months ago and it's a lot of work, they will try to chew up everything.
