It certainly can be. That depends mostly on the bud.

With enough pressure and the right temperature, 13% to 22% yields are very possible. This can yield just as much as BHO if the material is right.

I don't stand on my straightener, and usually do somewhat light presses. This gives me a much higher quality oil, but smaller yields. However, the weed chips can be pressed a second time so I don't really lose out at all. Typically pull about 10% yields from the first press, and I'm really not sure how much from the second. I've never weighed my second presses.

IF you were going to be using this as your main extraction method, I would HIGHLY recommend looking into actual presses made for Rosin. They can be expensive, but with the amount of pressure they put out...you're effortlessly getting every drop of resin out of the nug. It would be worth it. I only make this when I want a few quick dabs, so I just stick with a hair straightener.
