Pretty much what 6 9i said. Best combo to use now IMO (you may think differently) is shark - sara brew. Preferably you need to be a tank to use this (20 def or above) or by the time you've super restored and potted back up, you'll need to brew again.

But you'll develop a pattern, like brewing now, i can brew and pot and such within a quick amount of time, you pick up little hints that help you.

Choc bombs aren't really that good, they give you a delay so try to avoid them.

Summer pie - shark is good, but don't do a full inv of summer pies, if you eat a summer pie always combo it with a shark because otherwise you get some horrid attack delay.

Phoenix necklaces are awesome for when you're getting comboed, but i don't even use them for wars anymore... 1) i've grown out of them, don't need to - 2) they've got too expensive.

Take like 3-4 summer pies and 10 sharks and 3-4 rocktail

If you get hit hard combo pie with rocktail/shark.

No need to vary food, my inv consists usually of 3 summer pies, 0-1 phoenix necklaces and rest sharks.
