LieV2 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 By far and away our worst player of the night. If Milner is on the pitch, there is someone better not playing. Always. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vn4KNzNh8M I had the unfortunate experience of watching him lead our boys out tonight to a 2-1 loss at the hands of the Dutch. I blame the manager really for our loss as he simply played one of the worst 11's he had at his disposal. No Dele Alli, No Kane, No Dier - plays Milner, Walker, Sturridge (not a bad player but been out for a long time), Drinkwater, Stones. He was not doing this to see how players play, but simply for the fact they'd received the call up and wanted to give everyone an opportunity. This is international world football, Roy, not some primaryschool fair play kickabout. Give our best 11 some more matches together so they can gel. It's 3 games until the Euros and you seemingly have no idea who your best players are. Madness. Here are some pictures from my trip. 1
LieV2 Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 No longer plays for City. Was showing his ugly mug which is in contrast to the title of the beautiful game. Maybe a bit too subtle for you.
Thanos Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) Damn hope u still had fun mate ;) Was a decent game to watch Edited March 29, 2016 by Rordarok
LieV2 Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 Damn hope u still had fun mate ;) Was a decent game too watch Yes it was fun! Only a friendly at the end of the day. Just don't understand the gaffers vision, is he trying to win a major tournament or a fair play award?
mlaK Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 that's a huge stadium breh, must of been a sicko experience
Callum Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) He was mostly experimenting with the team, that's what it looks like anyway. Milner was a decent player but I think his time in the England squad is over, we have much better players in his position. I agree though he needs to field his strongest 11, sadly by doing that you run the risk of injury but its sometimes a necessary risk Also I heard a rumour that he threatened to quit/retire if he wasn't played tonight lmao. Hope this wasn't true Edited March 29, 2016 by `Callum

Yeah true, I think our commentator mentioned your lineup in the field was a bit strange considering the players you have as well. I'd expect teams to perfect their strategy in matches like this, but apparently he thinks differently =P

Hope this wasn't true Wow if that was true then please do retire and do us all a favour! It's not for the national team coach to worry about injuries like that. If the players fitness isn't up to scratch then don't play the weekend following. Perhaps my view is biased, I support a league 2 team and the National stage is the only chance I get to support the best players in the country - rather than week in week out. Milner is always looking for a backwards pass in my opinion and it's just not the way you win games these days. I think it's a direct result of him being our captain that we had so many issues at the back with backpasses and John Stones slipping over the ball. Play with more pace and more directly and these things don't happen - again in my opinion.
Jack Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 It was 100% a foul to the build up of their second goal, they deserved to win either way tbh.
Jordan Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 (edited) to think milner has 50 caps is ridiculous @@LieV2 as he offers fuck all in every position he can play. and its a piss take when a manager puts out that sort of team to 83.000 people paying £60 a ticket when he could gel the squad he played against Germany for the future. If we had glen hoddle or harry redknapp in charge of England we could probably pull a greece and win it because they're smart enough to realise our best 11 played vs germany with an average age of 24, don't see us going past the last 16/quarters tbh. It's exactly how I feel. The squad selection was an insult. Can only imagine how much worse these two games would of been with a fit Rooney..
B L l l T Z Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Mistakes were made, not as bad as missing a point blank shot
LieV2 Posted March 30, 2016 Author Posted March 30, 2016 Them empty seats Those were pre-game. We had 83K attendence.
`Ben Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Football's a squad game, you need to give everyone experience. It's not just your best 11 against your opponents best 11 - it's a tactical match up where you play your best players, in their best formation to expose your opponents weakness and for that you need a dynamic experienced squad to expose those weaknesses. Where else are these squad players going to get this experience other than a friendly. He also needs to take into consideration the players fitness. Although he doesn't have any allegiance to any club the Euros are around the corner. So if these players are fatigued, they're more likely to become injured (whether that's during the match or with their clubs in the following days) and could end up missing the competition.
