Im A Fucking Dildo Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 He was protesting peace, by lighting himself on fire he was attempting to prove the point that even someone who is in immence pain can still stay in peace. And fuck all the little kids who are bashing it because it takes alot of willpower to do what he did. It shows that people can do anything they put there mind to. Its one thing to disagree with it and have a logical reason but to come in and say 10 year old shit is childish.
Zany Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 There are better ways to prove that man can live with pain, and that you can do anything you put your mind to. I simply cannot respect someone who commits suicide in a way like this. life is a gift, and you should respect that and not throw it away with suicide just to prove a point.

Carson Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I'm gonna light myself on fire!!!!!!!!!!!!! That'll show em!!!!!!!! Everyone in the croud: "wow budhists are retarted"nearly everyone in that crowd is buddhist smart ass.people can do whatever they like with their lives. if they were raised to deeply respect and honor their religion enough to give their lives for it then so be it. it's their life, not yours. don't degrade yourself by trying to claim how "stupid" you think someone is because they are doing what they feel needs to be done to get their point across.

Diem didnt lift the ban on flying the buddhist flag. gf retard, you burned yourself to death for nothing. A quote from one of Diem's relatives “I would clap hands at seeing another monk barbeque show…". Yeah he really got his point across.
Shut Up Kid Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Sky, JUST STFU YOU DISRESPECTFULL PIECE OF SHIT, BE OPEN TO OTHERS BELIEFS YOU NARROW MINDED FAGGOT.
Adolesc3nt Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I didnt say i wasnt open to others beliefs. I just think that that particular guy and all of the other monks that burned themselves were dumbasses.

Yeah he really got his point across.perhaps he did get his point across, obviously just not to the right people. clearly, not everyone sees the same way. and so what if he didn't get his point across? at least he made an attempt for something he believed in, most of us wouldn't give up ten dollars to see something we believe in get across to others, let alone our life
Adolesc3nt Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 You don't have to kill yourself to do that. You can do things that are much more meaningfull than killing yourself. And you get to be around to enjoy the results.
Carson Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 not everyone thinks that way though. what may seem taboo to us may be a whole lot more acceptable to them. what may seem like a big sacrafice to us may be a much smaller one to them.

Buddhists were upset because diem's regime wouldnt let them fly their flag. There was also a protest where 9 people were shot and killed. The self immolations didn't really do anything except give western newspapers something to write about.

You flame his actions that had the intent to save his people from mindless segregation because he was a selfless individual who wanted change? lol Might as well go around telling people that MLK is an idiot then.

I somehow knew that someone was going to call me out on that one. I meant that post as a joke. Big difference between this guy and MLK. MLK actually fought for what he knew was right and made a huge difference. The monk thought that he was killing himself for the good of his people but he wasnt. Him burning himself had no effect on the situation what so ever.

The buddhists were being treated incredibly unfairly, and he felt it was his duty to try and make a difference in the world. Unfortunately, however, selfish govenment control takes the situation and pushes it aside as if it were nothing. In my opinion, I think he made a definit difference in the world. That's just me though '-'

But doing this would have a greater impact. And if he knew that it wouldn't help at the time he would prolly still had done it, just for bringing atention. Great respect to the man. And Haagen do you want me to rip that capslock off your keyboard? Grow up.
SkidooosH Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 unlike MLK though they didn't get much of a voice, that's the point in setting himself on fire.
Im A Fucking Dildo Posted December 24, 2009 Author Posted December 24, 2009 Aparently all of you who say that sacraficing ur life for others are athiest becuase Jesus did the same thing. He sacraficed his life to free millions from there sins. On top of that in the 1960's you couldnt speak up against things or you would be killed.
I C0NN0R I Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 you know how they say one person can't make a difference? it's true, unless you burn yourself to death publicly, in which case people might take a minute to look at your side of the story. I'm sure it contributed more to this world then any of you sorry fuckers will.
