is maxing 1 defense even worth it?

99 99 1.. Worth it, or too high cb?

My only experience on high combat pures was my 90 90 20 init pure back in '06..

so is maxing worth it? My initial goals were 99 86 1, 88 combat. If at all possible, can I get an answer from some one who's maxed, if there is anyone? lol.

I had this exact account, any1 on foe forums will vouch for me. I was technically the first attack pure. My rsn was meleed jr, i was 99-75-1 at 85 combat and i then moved to 99-85-1 at 88 combat.

Tbh the account owned anything main and many pures, the only thing that got you owned was maxed 60 att pures and void rangers. if you want to talk about this acc i can pm you and answer any questions you may have. oh and by the way on this type of acc dont get a godsword unless its an ags, whiping 30 then 30 is far more effective then 43 20 or some shit =)

I was planning on picking up an AGS, but I wasn't sure because of the speed.. And like you said, 30 30 with whip is much more affective. At the moment, I'm 93 86 1.. I was still debating on going 99 86 or bringing strength up to match attack. I think after hearing your testimony that I'll continue what I was doing and go 99 86. Thanks for the info, bro. and yeah, I've been ripping tanks and mains like nothing.

Yeah, I LOVED 20 defense when I had my 90 90 20... That was before PVP armors, though. It's probably 10x better now. If 99 86 1 doesn't pan out as I expect, I'm going to get 20 defense and see how vesta / stat pans out.

Sorry for the delayed reply, forgot to look on this topic. Seriously get 99-86-1 if you dont like it then get 90 str. you'll still own the f out of any1 that isnt godsword pure. i would defo recomend getting range and mage aswell as a tribrid with 99 attack and whip is a F lot better than any pure when just hunting PVP worlds like i used to. I remember just like 3-5 hitting so many noobs who were either training or pking in like full def armour. And when you get the cape, wear it it intimidates people, dont let people put you down or call you a noob attack pure cos at the end of the day not many people have seen what your acc can do, so just ask em how many accs they have had with 99 attack under 90 combat ;).

wow, thanks again for the info bro. It's all just encouragement to keep doing as I'm doing :D I just finished getting 99 magic yesterday (woot :D) so I'm gonna train attack now from 93-99. After that I'll get 90-99 range and see how tribridding is :D. I've neglected range so far, lol.. It's only 64 at the moment because I've been getting magic / attack up.

And yeah, I've had people flame me already for not having my strength higher than my attack.. I don't mind it though because I know what this type of pure is capable of. The combos with whips are just insane. Don't need to rely on a lucky spec to ko some one in defense armors because my whip can do it just fine, haha.

If you start getting into the high 90's you'll start having to mess with maxed rune pures with termoil and 60 attack. I would try to keep your combat a lot lower if possible.

Yeah, I figured as much. 94 is pretty high combat to be 1 defense. I'm going to "max" with 90 strength at 91 combat. I'll be 99 90 3 with 96 hp. 91 combat shouldn't be TOO high.

I finally agree with you on something. I used a few calculators and I came to the conclusion that 20 defense is, infact, A LOT better than 1.

99 99 1 is also 94 combat.

90 strength with statius / vesta hits 37's.

99 strength with 1 defense hits 37's.

The difference in the two is statius not only gives a great strength bonus, it also gives an AMAZING slash / stab / crush bonus, as well at amazing defensive bonuses. The + slash bonus with a warrior ring is 128 with statius / vesta. That's the same as a zerker with barrow gloves in rune armor with a rune defender... Zuriels also allows for amazing hybriding.

I've decided to get 20 defense. As of tomorrow I'll be 97 87 20. I know my strength is real low, even I'm starting to realize that. I'm getting it to 90, but I don't plan on raising it past that.

Your calculations are right, but your theory, wrong.  At 99-90-20 you'll be using loads of Statius, whether you are filthy rich or not, it's a complete waste of money.  20 Defense can barely tankout more at 90+ combats, so not worth it IMO.  Stay 1 because after 20 --> 45+

I understand what you're saying. I also understand your concern (thanks, by the way, for looking out.) but, imo, the bonuses outweigh the money spent. I'm not the type that pks to make money. Lol, my friends can tell you I'd be broke if that were the case. but on the other hand, money is never an issue :D I'd never get above 20, because I have a main if I want to main pk.
