Rolexx Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 (edited) So after almost 6 months I tried to login on my account.. But I forgot I had authenticator. (I got a new phone a couple of months ago and deleted the authenticator app and when I try to acces the authenticator app on my new phone I have no idea how to connect to my account) Only option to login would be to disable my authenticator right? So that's what I tried to do.. (exactly these steps: https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/206154529) However.. the last step fails, it says Jagex will send me an email with further instructions.. but I haven't received anything yet. (waited for 3hrs now) Anyone else experienced this before? Edited June 28, 2017 by Rolexx
Thanos Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 They send you an email but there's a good possibility there's a big delay on the email (don't ask my why lol), sometimes it takes up to 5 hours before you get it You could also recover your account as that automatically removes the authenticator

Make sure the time is correct on your phone (set it to automatic date & time) and also doublecheck you use the code for Jagex in the app in case you have more codes there :p

Please visit our authenticator page to begin the process. Here are the steps to link your authenticator to your RuneScape account. Scan the barcode on the website using the camera in the authenticator app." There's no way to scan the barcode on the website(jagex) because authenticator is already activated. So there's no way to link my jagex account to my google account. Only solution would be to reset the authentication on my jagex account. (but the ****** mail isn't sending) Source: https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/206811835-Setting-the-Authenticator-Mobile-Device Edit1: My acc is from before 2010 so it's not linked to any email. Edit2: So just to be sure I checked if my email is working (tried to change my password, and I received a mail from jagex that someone wanted to change my password) So that clearly works. Rolexx Posted June 29, 2017 Author Posted June 29, 2017 Problem Fixed. So I've ''acted'' like I forgot my password, so I recovered my account. After Jagex accepted my recovery, I changed my password and tried disabling authenticator once more... literally one minute later, and I've got mail to disable authenticator. So I guess that's the fix. Thanks for the help! (if someone experiences the same problem, just follow the steps above)
