Starting a 1 def pure

I understand you guys are the BEST pure clan around, so I figured I would make a post to get some expert opinions. I am wondering what the best gear combination would be for a 1 def pure. any help is appreciated.

this is p2p of course. I'm aiming more towards 1v1/BH combat.

First of all welcome, depends what type of pure you are if your a range g mauler/ddser like me i usually wear black d hide chaps, leather body, mith gloves, c boots, ava and a hat. there are all sorts of different gear combinations you can wear...

im going to be doing desert treasure within the next week or so, but I think i will be more melee based

In my opinion, train both strength, magic, and range so that you can pk effectively with all three.

Level your stats out your too much str based atm. Get some mage and range you can get atleast 94 range and mage without lvling.

Full iron, c boots, addy gloves and prayer book thats what they usually wear imo.

would it make a difference if i wore robe top and bottom instead of monks. is the prayer bonus from the monks really that good?

Erm not really sure but i would wear monk robes looks pro.

yeah they do look nice, i like the red robes just because it matches my hat, unholy book and dscim, but i feel like im missing out on a nice prayer bonus.

it doesnt matter what you wear, as long has ur having fun, dont see as making a new acc as a chore, do what you want, see where things take you...

Yeh should of stayed 1 prayer, range to dds is usually most succesful combo in my opinion.

why 1 prayer? i thought about range to dds, ill do that once i get 70 ranged, but i like dscim to dds right now.

Low prayer is overated. If you do the calculations it pretty much gives u the same combat levels compared to bonuses as if you were training strength above 99.
