Recovered my account after years off RS BUT....

What the hell is this? 

So I've managed to log in to my old account, through RS3 client even though it was made in like 05 or something? 

I log into the same account on OSRS and it starts at tutorial anyone know whats happened or why this is ?

Alsssooo, how do I make it so it looks OS ... I have no idea why I have thousands of HP and all these 'abilities' .. I just want my DDS+ special back 

Also, on my Intro post some people from back in the day mentioned I might have them on my FL .. yeah, I have no friends. So I'd have to re-add people who I remember, vice versa.

yeah thats what Im saying, Im pretty confident I made it before 2010.. is there any way I can check? 

I changed my RSN when the update for it came in, but I didnt even come back playing i literally changed my name and came off haha

oh man the disappointment for you is about to be so real

 

jagex had an "evolution of combat" update in late 2012 that changed the way combat in runescape worked. there was huge push-back from the runescape community and huge percentage of the playerbase quit, so like ~8 months or so later jagex made "old school runescape" based on the 2007 version of rs. they're 2 different games now, and if you want to play the older school version of runescape again you'll have to make your account again from scratch on the old school runescape servers

I made the account before 07, I've just found evidence when I got muted for spamming ...

I know it's 2008 but I didnt make the account get to where it was, become FOE all in 1 year aha

osrs isn't the same game as what you played back then, so your stats don't transfer to osrs.

Ive just tried to log onto OSRS on my old main account my very first RS account I made in 05 for definate, and thats a fresh account.

pretty much. I will say that they have implemented things like Nightmare Zone that you can afk and it's possible to max a pure in less than 2 months. just gotta have the money to do it. gp is only like 75 cents/mil right now if that doesn't kill the fun for you

 

I knew this would happen one day, where someone that had quit like 8+ years ago and had no interaction with the game after quitting would come back and be mad confused

75 cents per mil? What as in, buying dodgy gp off a site? 

yeah my first account is 100% pre 07 and It wont let me on the account with OSRS .. its as if I didnt even play OS.

OH SHIT, I think I get this now .. 

 

So basically OSRS isn't actually the OSRS, It's almost like theyve re-released it and named it OSRS so people can experience it, but your account has stayed with the original Runescape as RS has developed .. so OSRS is a new game basically, and I dont have an account on it.

as far as the gp thing goes though - the vast majority of sites (eg. https://www.boglagold.com) are less sketchy than you think and a lot of players in pure clans sell it too. I'm sure there are people in foe that do

Fantastic.. I suppose making a new account on OS will bring back memories aha, is there a way I can make my interface the same as OS? or does RS3 updates require the new interface?

I've used that site in the past but I prefer to buy from trusted players when I can because it's usually slightly cheaper. If you have trust issues though then sites are the better bet.

 

for the old-school interface you'll have to download a client to play on. Can download the official one here https://www.runescape.com/oldschool/download

a lot of people prefer to play on 3rd-party clients like OsBuddy (https://rsbuddy.com/) because they have helpful tools/overlays

 

as a side note, you can still use your "runescape 3" log on credentials to log in and make an osrs account with

I cant play RS3 on the OS client though can I? thats what im after, rs3 on an OS interface .. or is there too much now on RS3 for OS interface to be used on it?

all OSRS. the pure clanning scene is still quite active nowadays, although the culture has changed quite a bit from back in the day
