FRESH !! Mac Miller - Self Care

If you've been following Mac Miller, then you must have heard about his recent setbacks. "Self care" is his most recent song following the split with pop sensation Ariana Grande. If you haven't heard, Mac Miller and Ariana were dating for two years before splitting up in May. A mere two weeks after their breakup, Ariana went on to marry  Mac Miller's close friend and "SNL" star Pete Davidson. To no surprise to anyone, this led Mac Miller to make some less than sound decisions. Not much after the news about Ariana and Pete Davidson was revealed, police found a drunk Mac Miller in his wrecked Mercedes after he drove it into a tree while speeding and driving drunk. He was pretty quiet up until this new release where he hints at Ariana and Pete's romance and subtly reflects on his own relationship with Ariana.

If you're a Mac fan what do you think of his new work? I personally like the direction that his new singles are headed. "Divine Feminine" is good for what it was but his new works brings a refreshing sound that's somewhat reminiscent of the old Mac Miller but also shows his growth as an artist with the new style he's bringing.

I like alot of Mac Millers music and this song was pretty good too. Sounds like he had a rough time after he split up with Ariana like you mention, gonna be interesting to see what his new album gonna be like. Still prefer Logic over Mac Miller, but both of them are dope.

Logic is corny af to me and his suicide prevention song was shallow. He lacks the substance and depth that Mac Miller comes with on his tracks. If you listen to Mac Millers album "Faces", you get a picture of the inner workings of someone who is suicidal, because at the time, Mac Miller himself had been abusing drugs and contemplated suicide. That's apparent on the last track of the album. I suggest you atleast listen to "Grand Finale". Logic may have that quick, choppy flow with hard beats but I can only listen to so much of him rapping about how he's interracial.

Just gave Grand finale a listen, its alright but its a bit too slow for me, I like the more aggresive side of Mac Miller, like the song  'When in Rome'. Still think Logic is lyrically is a bit stronger.  I agree he can get a corny on some of his songs specially when he raps about being interrecial but he got so many different flows and styles which is why I like him so much. He got more of those aggresive rap songs like yuck, wizard  of oz, contra and i am the greatest, songs I listen to if I wanna get hyped. While Mac Miller is more on that laid back slow flow style which I think can get boring after a while. I guess it really depends on what type of rap/music you prefer tbh.
