Why do electronic artists do this?

This was such a banger, then they completely ruin it with that high pitched screech at 1:10. Anyone else agree? I can think of a bunch of other recent examples of songs with this screech phenomena. Everyone in the comments on youtube & soundcloud seem to just love it and can't get enough
