Is it worth getting a graphics tablet?

Well I've really taken a shine to sketching drawing making pixels cartoons sigs and all of arty things since i've become active in the forum and I was wondering is anyone has had any experience with a graphics tablet and if they would recomend me getting one? Thanks for your input

I have a Wacom Bamboo digitizer myself, definetly worth it.

ive been considering buying one for years, i may buy a crappy 100$ one to see if they're ok, then upgrade to something decent.

I saw one at WalMart the other day for $60. Was about to pick it up, but I said I'd get it another day

Thanks for the responses guys, well I see they are very popular and a bamboo one seems to be the prefered one so I'll go out and buy a bamboo on soon, I looked them up and they are well cheap I was expecting the

Yeah, my first tablet was around €30.... Shame my girlfriend had to step on it lol.

Now I've got one for about €100.

But if you are serious about art work (thinking of doing it in college, uni or future job), then save up and invest for proper tablet. Bamboo just wont cut it. But that is if you thinking of doing art related in future.

Exacly, I was thinking of whether doing Game Design or Visualizing. They advised me that if I would do Visualizing next year to get a professional tablet. So I'm thinking of saving up for one aswell.
