Pretty Big Deal To Me

I got appointed to the US merchant marine academy last week. If you don't know what it is it's one of the five military academies (just like navy, air force, army)

Over a 4 year period I get to be on a ship for four semesters and travel to 20+ different countries and all the while play on the soccer team. The schools located on long island 20 minutes from new york city too.

Anyone else get into colleges yet?

I got early acceptance into Brock University last week, which is around 10 minutes from Niagara Falls. I now have to maintain a set average for the rest of my semester to get in officially come next fall :)

My cousin was chosen to live on a boat for schooling as well; wasn't military based, but she still sailed across the world for something like 8 months. I forget the name of the ship she was on/the school she went to, but regardless she did :p

So happy that I got in though lol, now it's all about waiting for June to arrive to officially make it in :D

it's like march man. college applying time is like beginning of october. little off season lol.

Yeah applying time is october, but he's asking about acceptance.  March/April is the time when a lot of colleges send back if you got in or not.  Some of my mates who are seniors are hearing back now or in the next few weeks.

OT: Grats, traveling sounds like a lot of fun.

Same. 1 hour bus, 1 hour train to get to school, then 2 hours of that back.
