katalyst Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 I'm heading off to school for Computer Science and Computer Security, so i'll be getting a job in something like that. Idk if I want to do software design because I can't see me programming for the rest of my life that would blow. Maybe data protection or something cool like that. What jobs do you cats want?
lntoxicating Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 I'm looking to go to school for audio engineering. For myself more than anything.. I'm not looking to make money off it, just make my music sound good and to get heard. That's my aspirations, anyhow.. I wouldn't mind working 9-5 and doing gigs at night.

VLS Drop Plz Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 I know I'm most likely going to have a lot of "Stop dreaming" but I'm quite passionate about computer games. I'm currently doing software development at school, going to move on and learn Vis Basic after Flash then go into C++ and Java. May aswell learn PHP+stuff like that on top of those.
Tris Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Doing a three year computer degree in Computer Science, first year is general, second year is more specific, third year you do mass 6 month projects for real companies which could hire you. After those three years I'd either do a masters or head off to a job.
Jim Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Finish off my Business Studies course at college, then go to Air Cabin Crew & Passenger Handling school, get a decent apartment in the city, then spend the rest of my life traveling and going to festivals. Failing that I'll just win the lottery.
SkidooosH Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 @Creamie: you sure you can sign up for 3 years? i've talked to recruiters before when i was thinking about joining, and im sure it was 4 years. plus you gotta wait a year to get into the navy. but the navy is an awesome choice, especially if u wanna do med or something. myself im planning on going to a community college my first year generals, then xfer into a bigger school for pre-med, and eventually go to a med school, and if i can specialize. of course plans are subject to change, but why not aim for the top. on a side note, does anyone know what it takes to go to school over-seas? i know it's crazy, but i kind of want to go to japan for some of my college. i want a life experience, and japan would be a total culture shock.

Take my advice on this one and fuck VB. It's not really worth learning. Learn either python, java, or c++. you'll get the most use out of c++ if your going into gaming. If you really want an edge on the game doing that sort of shit you need to know how to use OpenGL, c++, and a good scripting language (lua, python). Learning c# or c wouldn't hurt either because Xbox is slowly converting to c# for there platform gaming and most portable systems use C
Mike (0BR) Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 After this semester I'll have another 3 years of business studies in University. Will be getting my bachelors and hopefully move onto real estate. Accounting is something I'm liking as well, but I won't know till later on.
