Hi Guys!

 

You have probably already seen the latest updated blog post regarding the reinstatement of Bounty Hunter worlds and the proposed updates to the system, here are some pics below highlighting the most important updates.

This drop was originally going to be a blighted shark; a drop we would never use. King Jim (an ex foe member)

He posted this and Ash replied, a day later it was changed.

 

 

This pic below is the current suggestion for VLS - over the past 24 hours we've suggested 3 alternative versions of the VLS on twitter and as a result they are working out a best way to make it a valuable reward (current idea is that once you get one it requires 25/50m worth of ether to unlock the spec, it would be an uncharged drop, and then if you kill someone for it with the ether you get either the ether or the sword)

EP SYSTEM -

 

We currently are also discussing a version of the 'EP' system that we had in the past. This would not remove free-trade / pk'ing someones +1, but be an addition to the current system. Their current viewpoint is they CANNOT work this into the game due to a potential for gold farmimg/abuse. But they are open to reworked suggestions/ideas regarding something that would make

pk'ing & multi pk'ing more profitable, in the same way mains can afk farm bosses for gp with little to no effort, vastly outweighing the money we can make.

 

 

The point of this topic, though, isn't just to make you aware of these things that go on behind the scenes - due to corona the jagex mods are active on twitter and actively engaging, responding, changing things based on suggestions we make.

 

If you have any thoughts on the blog, new additions, suggestions or anything you would like me to consolidate and send across and try and get a response from a mod then LET ME KNOW DOWN BELOW!

 

I will update this topic with any interesting snippets anyone cares about!

Thing is the worlds could become a huge hub for midweek multi activity. If the safespots in 20~ wild are added and there is a gp making method then there will be hundreds of people out there in groups and teams at different locations, pk'ing and ep'ing - or something of the sort.

 

The potential updates could be BIS on ANY world in the wilderness, which affects all of our accounts and clanning, we want them to benefit us 😄

it doesnt always have to be extra gold reward when u pk ppl, could just focus on adding cosmetics like halos, more recolours and capes with tiers, as u already get them from lms also (those bh hats r ugly, and no1 uses them). its not like ppl didnt already pk alot pvp worlds without any additional rewards for killing some1.

 

if they wana fix wilderness, in my opinion they should just add pj timer every world and make those npcs quit attacking ppl who r over 2x their cb (low lvs can still run to hobs etc cus there usually 30lv higher attacking them, but mains with max tank gear n shit wont get saved by some 20lv skeleton/hobgoblin)

Yup. It'd be BIS which is why only getting 100k for pk'ing one would be retarded and end it VLS ragging. The proposal KJ has puts it at a 50m value~ which be flat over time as it's based on ether price over time.

Tbh with the state of weapons in the game being so broken anyway, I don't think we need more of them. I'd say most people who BH are on some kind of defence capped account, so something to do with armour would probably be healthier for the game in the long run, or something quickly expendable like morrigans javelins.

Personally i'm going to suggest a mutagen-like drop which you can get from any kill worth over a certain amount which could either recolour a notoriously pk'ing-related item, or something along those lines. It could maybe be a token which is dropped 1/10k to be accessed a selection of 3 colours from the store, something like that.

Cosmetics can be functional, they can relate to your kills or even your deaths.

 

Functional stuff if it's strong though, pretty much has to be untradeable so it can't flood the market

the current idea is that the VLS is worth not much, but it requires 50m worth of ether to unlock the spec. This ether would be transferred to the killer if smited for the VLS, and the sword would be lost.

I think an OP weapon is unhealthy for the game, there's been so many already and the focus shouldn't be on something like that. The high price tag isn't going to lock out most of the people who would be using it, and they wouldn't likely lose it either.

Yeah, I think they're intending on removing some of the mechanisms that they have in place atm to make the wilderness unbalanced, such as NPC pjing

There's a lot of broken mechanisms that we're used to now, removing stuff like that which saves people from main teams might actively DISCOURAGE pking though, it's a risky move.
