It depends... My brother's xbox lasted 4 years before RROD, while my friend's lasted like a year.

It all depends on how you treat the thing too, like if you use it properly and shit you won't RROD it guarunteed.

Elites don't red ring, unless you stuff pillows around the ventilation...

difference between 360 and elite is the color, and the hard drive..

Also my friend had his original (when was first realest) 3 years, 2nd one lasted 2 years and his newest one hasnt had RROD yet

(but im waiting, he is a lazy git who puts weeks amount of washing and food plates ontop of it)  :shifty: only a matter of time

and the improved internal fan/ventilation, thus less chance of RROD.

edit: if you RROD microsoft repair your 360 for free.

No they don't, if it RRODs within 3 years of getting it they do... My brother had his for 4, and Microsoft was gonna charge him $120 to repair it lol

I've had my xbox since like the first week it came out and it still works perfect and it's in good condition. I don't play my xbox much and never did since I first got it, so that can be another reason why I haven't caught the RROD yet.
