A LOAD OF BULLSHIT,

My theory is that the dude, writing the calender, his arm got tired, and he just thought "god damn, 2012 pages, i'm done"

Your theorys?

The theory is complete and utter bullshit, and also it wasn't a written calendar so it wouldn't have been that, idk how they worked it out but they had some equation, which ended at 2012 somehow, either way, no man can predict the fall of life, and therefore, no shitty equation or calendar is gonna mean shit, anyone who believes the theory is a mongalong, and should be tied to a lampost and have milk thrown at them, just my two cents.

Nostradamus predicted a lot of things regarding war and the advancement of mankind, he too predicts the end of the world will come in 2012. The difference between his and the Mayans predictions is that the Mayans predict a massive climate shift and the earths core increasing in heat will cause the end of mankind, Nostradamus predicts it will be caused by chemical warfare. Nostradamus + Mayan Calander both say 2012, they've hardly been wrong with their predictions so far.

The world will most likely end in 2029 or 2036, and it's been proven possible (confirmed by NASA). Look up Asteroid Apophis.

Taken from Wikipedia:

Possible impact effects:

Using the computer simulation tool NEOSim, it was estimated that the hypothetical impact of Apophis in countries such as Colombia and Venezuela, which are in the path of risk, would have had more than 10 million casualties.

Any impact would be extremely detrimental to an area of thousands of square kilometres, but would be unlikely to have long-lasting global effects, such as the initiation of an impact winter

This on the predictions, the Mayan calendar has shown every lunar and solar eclipse down to the last milliseconds-and it's been 100% accurate so far

Carlos Barrios, from the Eagle Clan of the Mam Maya of Guatemala shares in regards to 2012:

"The world will not end. It will be transformed... Everything will change...Change is accelerating now, and it will continue to accelerate...If the people of the earth can get to this 2012 date in good shape, without having destroyed too much of the Earth, we will rise to a new, higher level. But to get there we must transform enormously powerful forces that seek to block the way...Humanity will continue, but in a different way. Material structures will change. From this we will have the opportunity to be more human..."

When the asteroid passess Earth in 2029, it will be closer than a lot of our satelites. While it's passing, the Earths gravitational pull will have an effect on the asteroid, the effect it will have is unknown. What they can confirm is that it will make the asteroid swing and turn around, possibly going directly towards the earth. They've run simulations of what could happen if the gravitational pull of the earth makes the asteroid pick up speed; if it picks up enough speed the asteroid will puncture the Earth.
