When I was trying out the new skill I noticed that when you join a team you are sharing xp with your teammates. So if one player is training def you might be getting def xp. But there is a solution on the list of your teamates on the right of there name there is a option to make you not share exp with them. So just make you put this option on before you actually start training.

Agreed this new skill is useless but I wouldn't class summoning as useless. +1 Summoning in pvp = good. 80+ cb = better loots = happy me see a level 65 & wear a pouch, he thinks you cannot attack him, take him loooong away from a bank, get rid of pouch = yay see a level 95, pouch on = yay
