severed arow Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 First time using the pen tool its stupidly awkward :L to veteran illustrator artists is there an easier way then drawing each segment of colour separately then filling it in? also how do i get brushed to work :L cause after i drew it the brushes wouldnt work :/ i mean i can use the pencil but thats it anyway CC please :P. i need alot more practise on illustrator im finding the pen tool hard to work with atm and also colouring in ect :/ EDIT :) 400 pc :P SO here's how the new one is coming along.. I've been working on it ages ... CC so far?
Stand Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I like the look of it, kindve like those ads on facebook about cartoonizing yourself. Good job and good luck with illustrator severed! I think you should change the nose, maybe more shape a little smaller and not a full outline? And the triangle underneath it is not needed, I see what you were going for but either dont complete the bottom line of the triangle or take it out. :nice: I really like the look of it, can't wait to see more illustrator work from you
I C0NN0R I Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 firstly, i'd just like to say the great thing about illustrator is the lack of outlines, and the fact that u can get shapes so clean, having black outlines ruins it. Best way to use work is imagine the layer furthest away, in your case the skin, draw the entire outline for the skin and fill it, lock the layer create a new one the do the next closest layer, i.e the shirt, followed by the scarf, then hair. Also if you have Cs4 try using the gradient plane/grid or w/e it's called to warp gradients into shading. ^Vector art :shifty:

Stand Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Thats a sick looking porsche Cant wait to see the redo i guess Good luck severed :nice:

I C0NN0R I Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 shading looks kinda wierd, same for the nose, that's soooooo much fucking better w/o lines though lol

I C0NN0R I Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 just make a highlight along the middle of the nose, as if it where a real highlight, then just do feint shadows for the nostrils and maybe slight shadows around the outside of the nostrils or something, it looks wierd now because it isn't actually shading, it's like a cut-out nose stuck to her face.
