Something other than WMM?

Story:

I have an end of year presentation to do in college, along the lines of a goodbye thing including text/pictures/videos/music

Problem

Windows Movie Maker just isnt good enough. There isnt enough transitions/effects on it to use and make my youtube bound presentation good enough? Micro Powerpoint is NOT something i want to use either.

Solution

Please reccomend me FREE programs like Windows Movie Maker that have alot more effects etc in them that i can use to create the presentation and upload to youtube.
