Premade Pk x Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 what do you think about my first sig ? give me some tips or triks thanksss
Idiot_Wasabi Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 looks quite nice for a first sig and considering RS sigs often dont go very far i think it isnt to bad, decent cropping of the character and the lack of cheesy effects helps. it is pretty simple, but in saying that, the simplicity is nice. keep up with it, its good funĀ :)
Cal Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 What programmes u gotta have to do stuff like this? i like it

Gareth l Rare Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Don't use black and white gradient as it looks cheesy and plain. Render is nice (i tend to copy and paste one behind which i blur so they overall outcome looks bit blended and no sharp corner pixels) Simple background but theres a lot of negative space which is left plain. Then again its your 1st so im not going to crit too much. Its nice, plain and simple and effective. Grats For next one, try make a background or something to fill the space <---( must fit theme and be eye catching as well as not over powering the sig) GL and look forward to seeing more work from you.

severed arow Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 mmmh you maybe got anny tips for a good background ?not that :L but being serious now just play around and see what you come up with incorporate c4ds and stock and brushes or whatever just practise.
Gareth l Rare Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Incorporate different styles and images and use your imagination to create different effects. Positioning different images in different ways or samples parts and changing the colours can create a dramatic effect. (this example doesn't show that as i did it literally in 2mins and its crap...) For instance http://www.luxembourg.co.uk/pics/Luxembourg_city_by_night.jpg http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00336/Gulf_war_soldier_336417a.jpg Stocks can be used to create backgrounds as a whole, can blur them and use parts, can use brushes to create patterns... so on so on... Dont ask for brush packs as i lost mine long time ago and never been able to find good ones again. But check deviantart art and google for some good ones.

Premade Pk x Posted May 26, 2010 Author Posted May 26, 2010 hey guys i made a new one with some other effect's tell me what you think about it thanks
Gareth l Rare Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Nice that you can use pen tool but wind effect line like and lines just ruin it because they over power the sig and cover the character who is supposed to be the main focus of the sig. Tbh i rather your other one.

Premade Pk x Posted May 26, 2010 Author Posted May 26, 2010 something more like this but need a better background
severed arow Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 something more like this but need a better background yes work on your background also your not using the space well, there is a big gap with empty space and a simple repositioning of text could sort this out think about the rule of thirds when placing text if you cant find a place that works well, if you dont know what that is google it. Also i dont like the font and tha character looks blured, its a good start though keep practising :) You might also find it easyer not doing rs characters as you are quite limited with what you can do with them as they dont have great flow or anything so it could be hard to work with as a beginnerĀ :)GL with your art

Stand Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Simplicity is the best in certain cases. I think the first version was very well done. Only some parts needed to be even more simple (like the gradient on your rsn could be removed and the border. I think I'm going through a phase but I feel like the simple gfx really grab my attention. Anyways, I liked the first version the best but experimenting with different things (not drugs) is amazing for learning and improving so keep posting the work! I feel that there is too much to look at in the new version. Tone down the colors and find what you want to stand out in the sig and focus on it by going crazy with brushes and c4d and keeping what looks good. Did you guys see what I did there with the stand? Lol keep up the great work k1ll can't wait for more updates! :nice:
