will rares ever be as valuable as they used to be?

hey guys i was just wanting to see what you guys think about rares.  do you think they will ever be as valuable as they where before the trade limit updates or was that there highest price they will ever be.  I don't believe rares are useful I mean yeah they kinda look cool but some don't do anything like the Easter egg whats it do besides sit in your invent and you can look at it...I think if there is any chance of prices going back up they need to raise the staking limit at dueling arena....post your comments thanks.

Rares are useless items that should have never been tradeable.

rares used to be so high in price because other items were all easy to obtain. recent equipment is hard to get and gives incredible bonuses.

theyre rare in a way that not just anyone can obtain them when they want keeping their price somewhat high and stable.

if you have 20mil and you can choose between a ugly green helm with 2 horns that doesnt boost a single stat or a sword that makes you hit 60s its a easy choice. ^^

The Grand Exchange has brought supply and demand together, thus it is much easier to find buyers and sellers of rares. Their prices used to be so high because of scarcity of supply, but now that it has been consolidated via the GE, prices have dropped dramatically.

Tl;dr: No they will never be as high as they used to be.

I sold my green partyhat for 175m ages ago.

(Rares were duped once in classic and I bought a white partyhat for 1m and eventually sold it for 6).

Rares going back to their "regular" price? I remember when green masks were 500-600k, blues were 800-900k, and reds were 900k-1.15m. I also remember when greens were 14m, purples were like 17m, and yellows were 30m. I also remember when santas used to be just hitting 200k, easter eggs were 400k, pumpkins were 800k, and blues were like 60m.

People don't want rares any more, and quite frankly I think those who have them have either:

1) Not played the game since they came out

2) Have enough money to blow away on rares

3) Hacked them from someone

4) bought them irl

We might actually see a major decline in the price of rares sometime in the future. What I think honestly caused the hyperinflation of rares was the fact that people were buying gp for irl cash, and buying rares, and then getting banned for RWT. As we see that more and more of these perm-banned accounts are getting unbanned, we might actually see a lot more of these rares showing up in the market again. Thus, forcing their price down.

Blues were stable at around 18m for around a year and that's probably the longest it has remained at a steady price. But imo unless u can buy everything combat/skill related and still have enough to buy randoms there is no point.

I had enough money but rarely spend it cuz I only loved staking and pking..

So I sold it when I didn't/couldn't stake and pk anymore..
