will rares ever be as valuable as they used to be?

I mean I see everyone's point but rares are symbolical of the past and there really isn't that many of them for a item e.g. Bandos Godsword which there is alot of compared to rare items to be more expensive then a red,blue,green mask makes no sense to me...
