Exploras Ring 3

Been getting into farming, but I want exploras ring 3, however it says for the only task I haven't completed is get a dragonfire shield off of duke horacio. Can I complete dragon slayer up to that point where you need fire breath protection without gaining defence xp and will that count towards the achievement diary?

Yes, u only get def exp if u FINISH the quest just start it and get the shield of him and done :d

Ye just do quest untill u have to ask a dragonfire shield, if u got any on bank, drop them, and ask the Duke for a new one: Task complete :)

I'm pretty sure you get to do that right at the beginning of the quest.
