cant seem to get my xbox to stop overheating; i tried everything from using artic silver 5, to using my own fan on it. Shit blows, i know someone knows how to fix it.  Any ideas?  <3

yeah 3 red rings. i can play it like 30 minutes before it overheats, but that's useless lol

idk where would it be? it just red rings with 2 rings which means it overheating to my knowledge. waiting for the link, thanks.

if you power supply is close to it, move it. if you know how to take the case off, do that. and just run it without the case. also, dont do the towel trick... thats terrible. it over heats it, and can cause major damage to the motherboard.

shit i keep trying but the controller wont sync up with the xbox, so i cant get the code  :unsure2:

Think i might try to screw the heat sinks in so i know there gonna transfer heat quickly

when you try to get the code hold down the sync button on the xbox itself then the press the open disk tray button, do that 4 times and you'll get the code.

and if its problem with the heat sinks i can ask my friend how to fix that, he had that problem himself.

it turned out to be the heat sinks, i took off the x clamps and screwed them down. It's been on for 3hours now and no red ring, hope its the perm fix :wow:  wheres the sync button on the xbox btw lol(my faceplate,top, and everything is off atm)
