so.. apparently obama is in favor to put a mosque at ground zero. i know it wasnt the muslim religion that caused 911, but it still seems like a kick in the face to put a mosque there. plus it was estimated to cost 100million dollars for it to be built. last i checked the united states was in the hole a long ways..

for or against?

Not American, but to me that's fucking ridiculous, nothing should be built on ground zero IMO.

1 - it's not even at ground zero, it's several blocks away, in the site of an old coat factory rofl.

2 - it's not a mosque, it's a muslim community centre

3 - I'm pretty sure that the government isn't paying for it, so wtf u talking about saying that it's gonna affect our debt

4 - there's already a mosque not far away from there, which was built WAY before 9/11 even happened.

5 - IMO it's basically like saying you can't build a church anywhere near the site of a concentration camp (before anyone argues "they were nazis, not christians" these were extremist terrorists, not muslims)

No its a metaphor

Ill be the interpreter

The nazis for example caused a mass genocide and if someone wanted to build a church "near" the for grounds, someone would say no you cant do that "personified in this case as a group of angry protesters"

Reasons for this, them being angry ignorant individuals who cant tell the difference between some pissed off extremists and muslims.

INB4 "but the koran says kill in the name of ALAH" BOLLOX

It does not and says all those who kill will go to hell. "thou shall not shed blood of another human being" or something like that bla bla bla (but iv gone off track from original quote but just clearing some shit up)

i understood the metaphor,  but he said its like building a church near a concentration camp. meaning, since they want a mosque near the ground zero of the world trade centers, that he was comparing the world trade center to a concentration camp.

its a cultural center with a fucking pray room on the second floor idiot get over it. if it happens it happens.

thanks rare, that was what i was trying to say, both are sites of mass murder (though a concentration camp is on a lot larger scale)

I agree to what you said to advent too, was exactly what i was thinking, I hate idiots who think all muslims are terrorists. not to revert to my old analogy which didn't seem to work well, but its like saying that all christians are nazis.

no, i got it now. i didnt put 2 and 2 together withe the sites of mass murder.

i really just didnt research it well if everything you said is correct.

btw, like i said in my original post. i know it wasnt the muslim religion that caused it.

This thread contains WAY too much ignorance and blatant misunderstanding for me to even contribute a hair of my knowledge and expressed opinions on the fact.

from who? only one i noticed was from that one dbag that said plan the attacks elsewhere or what ever

Yeah they should.. So hypocritical of Americans to act like it's a free and liberated country "WE have a black leader bla bla bla".

This is just laughable...

i dont think we shouldn't rebuild it or anything around it.

didn't read the thread but i could care less. america is built on the belief of religious freedom. just because some terrorists that terrorize in the name of the muslim faith bombed our buildings, does not mean the whole muslim religion is evil.

let them put it up, it's better than a mcdonalds.

Ethan pretty much nailed every point about this...

Its not being built at Ground Zero, its being built 4 blocks away at an old Burlington Coat factory.

Its not a Mosque, its a Community Center.

Its being paid for by some rich Muslim who owns a large portion of Fox News, which is ironic because Fox News is the main company spreading all the bullshit about the community center.

Which brings me to my last point, watch The Daily Show... its fucking hilarious and where I heard about all of that XD
