Can't tell what the first two really are, and the hair is ovesharpened a little, but the colours of the second look nice.

third one is kinda meh, but good for a first.

The first two are characters from world of warcraft. I agree that the hair is oversharpened, but I liked how the body looked and I don't know if there is a way to only sharpen a certain area :p

Well i assume you're using photoshop, because the alternative is horrible. Grab the sharpen tool, set it to 50% and just brush over the areas you want sharpened a few times.

Yes, I was using photshop. I didn't know there was a sharpen tool, I always did filter sharpen sharpen, so thank you.

Go browse through the tools, you'll be suprised by what it has to offer, i'll be happy to answer any questions.

I like the second one. Cool little render, not a fan of the circle on the right side of the sig. And maybe add a 1 pixel border around it. No text would be nice too. Link to tutorial?
