I understand musical taste is based upon opinion, and I fully accept that, however, I hate artists being wrongly percieved into genres they don't belong to. This rant is mainly aimed at metal, rap and grime which 'crosses over' with pop music.

I'm not much of a fan of rock music, of any kind. However, there are a handful of metal bands I like, so when music comes into convosation and some says they like metal, I think 'Ah cool, maybe they like Morbid Angel', but no, it's always Green Day, Bullet for my Valentine or some other NON-METAL band.

Same for grime, the amount of girls who claim they like grime because they like Chipmunk, N-Dubz, Fugative or Cher Lloyd is disgusting. It's fucking pop music, a London accent and a tracksuit does NOT make it grime, stop being a cunt.

We all know the routine with hip-hop, with the likes of Soulja Boy, Nikki Minaj, Usher and Ne-yo who always get wrongly called hip-hop because they're black with a bit of edgy, risque attitude.

As for RnB, there is no longer such a thing as far as I'm now concerned, it's just pop.

I also hate it. I always used to listen to pop and stuff cause I was never really interested in music, but since a few years I really started to like it. Now I daily listen to Avenged Sevenfold, which has no genre, because it is like everything, like rock/metal/alternative/country/acoustic/like everything. People keep saying stuff like: hell no, fuck scream or fuck emo and stuff. Nowadays like everyone listens to rap-crap/r/b/hardstyle crap....Ya know.

example:

Between the Buried and Me & The Faceless ARE NOT METAL, They're Technical/Progressive/Melodic(metal)

people get metal genre's wrong almost 90% of the time, and its solely based on the fact that they're all fucking morons..

Any music I listen to falls into three categories.

1) Awesome.

2) Indifferent

3) Sucks

Those are my genres since I listen to all types of music. Classical to Rock to Pop.

Who cares about genres tbh, and you say when a kid says 'metal' you think he means like Morbidly Obese Angel, but there are hundreds of sub-genres within metal, so not necessarily also who cares about metal it's just a guy playing a guitar for 10 minutes.

It just depends how you call it, I mean 99% of the music on tv sucks dick pretty hard.

But if you watch like the rap or the 'alternative' music then it's a bigger percentage that I like.

They just don't play much rap on tv here, mostly chick music lol.

I can like Drake songs, Eminem, some Rihanna's even. Most of her songs annoy the crap outta me tho..

I just listen to everything except like niqqa beats (actual rap like Biggie Smalls) because I'm just so sick of finding a Genre I like and then it turns out when I youtube/google search other bands in the same genre its like completely different and sounds like assfuck
