Yo well Christmas is coming up very quickly and i was just thinking.

My parents have asked me to chose presents for myself but i haven't yet.

Its like 5 days till xmas and i havent chosen anything lol.

Eh, Christmas gets a lot less interesting when you get older. It's just an excuse to get drunk during the day.

Personally I've just spent money on toys for the kids and put a few fivers in cards and small gag gifts and the like. I'd prefer to spend money on something which is going to get played by a child with than waste it on a symbolic gift, but people expect you to give something. For everyone else it's just wine or sherry.

I've been told that I've got some cash and maybe a book or two coming my way from family members, but I explicitly asked my parents to not bother buying me anything and just spend it on extra bits for the children.

After all, the best part of the season is watching them get something they really wanted.
