Recording + Editing software for Mac, and some quick tips for clips?

If anyone can hook me up with some programs to record + edit pking clips on my mac it would be greatly appreciated.

I have camtasia but I never got the formatting right and all the clips looked like garbage and I have been editing using the mac iMovie application and it looks ok but its not what I want it to look like.  More effects and zooms would be nice.\
