FOE Signature, Making progress?

decided to make it a sig instead of a screensaver. Do you think im making progress? when ever I figure out what my RSN is going to be, I might change "FOE" to whatever name i choose. "like nothing you've ever seen" seems  little dark, now that I look at it.

Heres the picture I got my eyes from http://i51.tinypic.com/cois0.jpg I actually used the right eye for both sides, I just flipped the image and aligned them accordingly.

3. colours dont match foe

Foe text is mostly silver/white (similar/same font) but has flair to it. Yours is plain and bland with the red behind it.

smudge effect to look like smoke...

i can understand what you was trying to do so im not going to crit too much but for me it really doesnt work. Try use a smokey tut and incorperate that into the background and finally but mostly the main thing that bugs me is the brushes used to make red background...

Just terrible tbh... i have a vendetta against them

Also no need to use watermarks, they can be easily removed by anyone who has a understanding of photoshop and just standard no one here is that sad.

I know nothing about GFK, but maybe make the eyes stand out more by increasing the intensity of the red in them. Umm, it doesnt need 3d in my opinion. And if you could match it to an account, that would be badass. And yeh goodluck. I like it!

epic constructive criticism :o, thank you, although I am a little butthurt :embarrased:. since i was not aware that FOE was hawk eyes only, ill probably make this a personal background/sig.

@watermark, better safe than sorry? I wouldnt assume anyone here would take it, but i didnt want some randy nub to come and take it, post it on mm, tlp, or something like that.

I like the use of the panther eyes, not such a fan on the red standing out so much nor the text, overall however it looks decent. 

Foe seems to be big on blue and we've associated with an eagle as our logo for a while now.  What I'd do personally is change the Panther eyes to eagle eyes if you could find a decent stock, then I'd change the red brushed area to a gradient of blue blended brushes maybe and use some font technique to enhance the font.  For the background I'd grab some screenshots of Foe warring or Foe trips and blend them into each other with the smudge tool/eraser, then I'd use a color adjustment layer or gradient layer of blues so the screenshots blend in with the text, maybe a few c4ds blended in but c4ds do seem to be overused in some cases.

Just my suggestion, don't like it don't take it.

yep, i was checking out the MM forums and they had a lot of topics/pics/comments bashing you guys, thought it was sort of childish.

Just thought of this, not hating but theres a lot of pictures/sigs that arent related to any of the above. If im not dead ass tired ill try to work on the picture, I drove to Orlando yesterday got to the hotel at like 11pm and went to sleep. Now me and my family are about to go to Disney so Ill be home later tonight.  :shifty:

Made the text bigger and brighter, and cleaned up the eyes.

I think I just naturally suck at photoshop, but ill never stop fighting it! maybe I'll start a new sig or something this one isnt working out for me.

Honestly there's really no graphical ability when looking at it rather than just slapping brushes everywhere with a set of eyes.

The text is also a poor choice; Putting a bevel filter on the text is tacky 99% of the time, and really rarely looks good; it looks cheesy and isn't really appealing if it's not placed correctly.

The whole eye idea is cool, don't get me wrong; there's just a lot more that can be done with it, and honestly the red/black background on signatures can get extremely cliche' and boring to look at.

It's good that you're starting with Photoshop; however in terms of ability as opposed to your screensaver background there's not much improvement, if at all. If you would like to see improvement at an exponential rate you should definitely check out the first post in the New to Photoshop thread found at the top of this forum, as it'll really set you on your way.

If you have any other questions don't hesitate to PM any fo the artists, as they'll help you out.

so i figured out the problem i was having. I didnt know what any of the tools did because I thought I was going to be a cool guy and not need to use any guides. Well, I didnt do anything to the sig (dont plan to really want to start something new) but I did this with some tips from a guide. its a little sketchy but I didnt spend a lot of time on the detail.

now that I look at my sig I posted earlier today it looks like hammered dog shit  :shifty: but Im going out to eat, and might do some more photoshop later tonight but probably not being that I need to get 53 thief on my new pure for desert treasure  :ahhh: . Thanks for all the help/advice GFX Artist, This is the chillest community ever! anywhere else would have just bashed me and told me to get better or GTFO but you guys helped me in my quest for knowledge :woo: lol. Thanks guys, your the best.
