My first step to take in disarming North Korea of nuclear power would be to blockade the peninsula with the U.S. navy. That action would force China's hand (Make them drop the program, or supply North Korea still). Considering North Korea is an island for the most part, the pigs would starve to death unless China helps them. That would put most of the world against China, which China doesn't want because of fiscal/business interests. North Korea is no threat to the U.S. The only threat they pose is their ability to sell the weapons/ability.

Sorry sir, no matter how much behind the scenes manipulating occurs at the end of the day if a war breaks out you do not fight with words. My opinion is to do as little as possible to provoke them but if (when) they decide to go on the offensive we make they're country a wasteland.

Total cult of personality there, but if they continue to ignore political pressure, and test ballistic missiles & nuclear explosions what can we do? Usually we go through the UN, and limit aid to the country and that type of thing, but their dictator is fine with starving the population as it happens already. I think a unified invasion may become practical in the next decade. Though won't that be an absolute cesspool clusterfuck of a situation and country in aftermath.

From what I have read they currently don't have the technology to reach the US (arch enemies), so the country that is really in danger would be South Korea. If they were to bomb anyone, their pudgy little leader wouldn't know what hit him.

However it's a government that doesn't use common sense in decision making, so yes, hypothetically if we intervened they could nuke South Korea. Besides even if we retaliate and demolish their institutions across the map, what then? This country is locked away from the outside world, the typical citizen is malnourished and misled. What do you even do to begin the rehabilitation? There is no winning strategy IMO.
