I want to record my staking and pking so was wondering if some kind, gentle, young and flexible FOE member could provide some download links, or suggestions at which recording software to use (hypercam, camtasia etc) and also how to record at the highest quality, with best settings... As FOE's videos are always top standard I'm sure you can help me out. Thanks :)
Kjedelige | KJ Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Ive never made a runescape video in my life, but i have made other game videos and I personally prefer Camtasia, but Hypercam gets the job done too.
Evan Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Best recording software is Camtasia. For editing purposes I like to use Sony Vegas 8. (There are better versions available.)
specgod Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 Isn't hypercam 2 free for anyone now? yeah but I found it a bit of a nuisance and the quality wasn't very good and didn't know how to config. the settings to the best possible.
RobMc Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Use the free hypercam 2, The settings you use for BEST quality ( Plus render in 1080p for best results, using sony vegas preferably ) AVI File-> 10 rate per second \ 10 play back rate 1 cursor /full frame capture ratio key frame every 100 *Those were default, here is where it gives you your best quality! Video compressor - > Full Frames Uncompressed ! ( This will make the majority of your clips 1-2 gb, but it will be perfect quality, and once you are done with your video, only keep your most treasured clips, and delete or save your clips to another device if you are in need of room on your computer) Props to kiidinvisible for helping me out on this awhile back.

I've downloaded Camtasia, but I'm unsure about what options to use... For example; What should I put the screen capture frame rate at? which compressor should I use? The Techsmith one that comes with it? Key Frame every --? Please, if you could answer I'd be very happy. :)
