Blitz Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Anyway my laptop is fucking disgusting, it overheats when i have even 2-3 applications open, and it just annoys me when it overheats in the middle of important stuff, and the trouble of turning it back on etc, i know you're all gonna go 'GET A N00 1 OR D3SKT0P N00B', but i really can't afford it. When i play RS my laptop overheats like 3-4 times a day, and when i don't, depending on how many applications i have open, maybe 1-2, it's very rare it doesn't. I only have Chrome/MSN/mIRC/RS open at once, it's not that much but apparently it's enough to overheat it. I play on a wooden table, the wood is usually cold aswell and it remains cold despite my laptop becoming hotter, i just need ways of how to.. A. Stop it overheating completely. B. Stop it overheating when i'm playing RS. Thanks lads.
Bullet Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 your fan is probably fucked, happened to mine but it just needed cleaning in the end.
Encoder Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Get some canned air and go to town on that bitch
gfdgfd Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 You need to have a fan directly on the laptop's vent at all times, or buy a laptop cooling pad[upwards facing fan that goes under your laptop] for like £20 at pc world, either that or pay a load to get your laptop's fan replaced, or you could open the laptop yourself, make sure the fan isn't clogged with shit or broken etc, but if you don't know how to do that it's not exactly wise.
Marc|Criti Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 use a computer cooling base http://pcsupport.about.com/od/maintenance/tp/pc_cooling.htm
Soap Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Basically clean the thing out, use a brush or some canned air like someone said above, compressors with air nozzels work, but i suspect you won't have that...
