Holy Jitte Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 First things first… Hello Final Ownage Elite’s Community!! My name is Holy Jitte! For those who don’t know me I was once a Leader and currently a continuing supporter of Final Ownage Elite. This week I would like to talk about the recent changes to Runescape and how you can benefit from them and also reduce the chance of being taken advantage by others. Here we go! Most of you are already aware that wilderness and free trade are back to their original form that we were used to back in 2008. This is AWESOME news. Not only do we have the wilderness and free trade back, we also have no-limit staking back! So, where do we begin? There is one statement that I made very clear back in 2005 and I will say it again: “The best way to make money in Runescape is to take advantage of others.” This can be a good thing, and it can be a bad thing. Some people will look at this statement and say “heh, yeah Jitte if your talking about hacking someone or luring them for their bank. That’s pretty f*cked up”. You know what… your right, it IS pretty f*cked up. But that’s not what I’m talking about here. I don’t believe in stealing from people. That’s pathetic, unethical, lack of moral what have you. If that’s what you gotta do to enjoy this game by all means go for it. I myself choose not to do that. What I believe in is setting yourself up for success by giving yourself the best chance to win something (without stealing). If you agree with this or are still interested here are a few suggestions to give yourself an advantage: Wilderness In the wilderness you have many choices on what your game plan will be. These choices include your stats you choose go into the wilderness with, the location where you want to PK, your gear setup, and also style of pking. Make sure to take all these things into consideration. This game may or may not be broken right now but it definitely can be bent – so get to know and understand the mechanics of the game. Staking Staking is a bit different than the wilderness because your inside a sandbox and are capable of reducing the variables with the settings which makes a more controlled fight. I am not a big fan of flip of the coin 50/50 stakes because I do not have an advantage over my opponent and my opponent has an equal chance at winning. Because of the combat system and people never having the same exact stats and also how much cash you bring to the table, you can manipulate the settings in your favor. Be aware that since staking is easily the fastest way to make big gains in the game people will do whatever it takes to win and the most common one is having multiple accounts with similar names at the same combat and will swap character prior to the fight. Merchant If you weren’t aware the update included removing the ceiling and floor on all items (I think) in the grand exchange. Not only that but because of free trade trading outside person to person has become just as popular as it was before – the only difference is that its typically at the ge. A combination of utilizing the ge and regular trading can be very profitable. An example was me talking to my gf on skype the other day and I was standing at the ge in world 6. I noticed some people selling fury for 15m others buying for 13. I continued to observe and noticed someone rush out and spam selling fury for 12m cash only. I immediately picked it up and started spamming selling for 14m. I did this 3 times within 15 minutes and was an easy 6m profit. While I do not suggest you sit there and do this because your not gaining stats it just goes to show that the options are available. Finally: Play this game smart. If you see someone spamming something that is too good to be true, odds are it’s a scam. I’ve seen people easily get lured from edgeville into wilderness with stupid scams like “Omg I died and lost AGS im gonna quit this game and drop all my stuff!!” then people follow them in wild and die. As corny as it sounds, these things DO happen so don’t be a fool and play this game smart. Don’t fall for the flower scam either. Most of these things should be straight forward or you probably already know, but for the people that don’t know I hope this helps. -Holy Jitte Note: If you choose to participate in topics that I’ve created you have acknowledged and accepted the responsibility of creating a quality post. If you choose not to represent what you have to say with respect to others I will go out of my way and remove your posting rights for 2 weeks. ^_^
X0 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 their original form that we were used to back in 2008 *2007 But i take adventage of others by luring them for their claws/ags, over 300+M made from the shares myself. and otherwise i pk at edge/drags. And i think the people on these forums arent that retarted to fall for dumb lures/scams, except desire 0wn u.
Holy Jitte Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 Hey xo thanks for the reply. Yeah just realized I didn't proof read anything an I was a bit harsh on lureers but yeah it's a good feeling to have choice. Who am I to say what's right from wrong. It's just something that I don't believe in. I will say most of my good friends in rs lire though
Lennu Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Excellent topic Jitte, this will help lots of people.
li oo0oo il Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 great topic bro! :D really helps alot :) gj
Blitz Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Oh Ken  I agree what you're saying, as you think hacking and luring is stealing, i agree with hacking but in my opinion, if you're stupid enough to get lured in thw first place, it's your own fault and the lurers shouldn't be in the same category as hackers as they're not going out of their way to get on your account and steal your money, they're merely exploiting people's idiocy. I personally, have never been over a 40mil pile in all my time on RS, but good post nevertheless pal, will try to go 2m > 5m tonight
Craig Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Yeah Jitte, Has a point. Staking, pking and merchanting were the main ways pures used to make money. Listen to him he speaks wise words.
M1ni Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 In a trading world, make sure you turn your accept aid off... people will try to teleport you up to 54 wildish and kill you for your stuff.
Mai Pkar Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Finally: Play this game smart. Holy Jitte knows all about the flower scam.
Austenf Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Interesting read. What I like about staking, despite the fact that you can lose your bank in an instant, is that you don't lose your untradeables. However, PK'ing is most definitely my preferred money-making method. Since the return of the 'proper' wilderness, there has been a vast redistribution of wealth, of which I am yet to benefit from..
Cal Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Great topic man Gotta admit i do like luring though lol :p
Cursed Majic Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Luring is an advantage. Where is that on the list?
Imdap00ner Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 You can only stake 40k cash max in f2p, wtf jagex?
Craig Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Probs because people in f2p dont have over 40k lol!
