Adam|Note Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 He lost to Antonio Silva just now, very badly. And in a cowardly fashion decides to resign from MMA before taking another loss that would tarnish his title as "best heavyweight in the world". Bullshit if you ask me, he would get his ass kicked by many heavyweights of today.
d72 Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Rejects a contract with the UFC to go and fight UFC rejects, and gets spanked in the process. Dana White's probably laughing his ass off right now.
Smush Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 He got old. He WAS the best. But the new breed of heavyweights ... too fast, too strong, better than him.
Adam|Note Posted February 13, 2011 Author Posted February 13, 2011 A better pic of the carnage for anyone who cares. Rejects a contract with the UFC to go and fight UFC rejects, and gets spanked in the process. Dana White's probably laughing his ass off right now. Couldn't agree more with what you said d72. He got old. He WAS the best. But the new breed of heavyweights ... too fast, too strong, better than him. I don't think I can even consider him the best. Throughout his career he would dodge and decline fights, usually he would refuse the offer to fight someone in their prime then have no hesitation to beat them up when they were a has-been. Also the act of declining fights pretty much confirms the fact he isn't and wasn't really ever the best.
Eric Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 i'd bust an awesome spin kick to his noggin if i ever saw that pansy..
Spittles (Old School) Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 ^Yeah I'm pretty sure he'd fuck your shit up bro.
specgod Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Doctor shouldn't have stopped it. But 60pounds weight difference is huge and that mongoloid fuck just smothered him. Fedor was the best, but isn't anymore. Also Fedor never dodged anyone. His management are fucking utterly atrocious and orchestrate his career options not him.
Eric Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 ^Yeah I'm pretty sure he'd fuck your shit up bro. what type of alternate reality world are YOU living in bro.

You best mates with him or summit?
187 Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 he's a joke... I dont really watch strikeforce or w/e but it was on when I was flipping through the channels and this is why I dont really care for it. I'm sure the other silva, 50+ pounds lighter would do even more damage lol... Antonio Silva had so many submission chances and completely failed every time. Size difference played huge factor with fedor not being able to get up with a 265 lb giant on top of him but he should have never went down to him in the first place.
Lip Job Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Joe Lauzon is the man Look into his fucking eyes!
Tom (Rendition) Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 So the lack of MMA knowledge on this topic is pretty horendous. He rejected any UFC contracts because he owns a company that co-promotes Strikeforce, by going over to UFC he would have to give this company up, and lose literally millions of USD's. Yes many of the top heavyweights int he world probably would beat him, but to be honest, he isnt even fighting in the right division. He could quite easily cut to 205 without losing strength or stamina. He is past his prime. He hasn't evolved. But at his peak p4p one of the best fighters to ever grace the sport....better then Silva or any other boring cunt

Relentless. Wouldn't have it any other way.

He was ready to finalize a contract with the UFC but his management stopped him. He was never the best heavyweight, he'd dodge fights 'till the person was a has-been then fight them.

Unless you can name me another heavyweight around 2001-2007 that was better than him at the time, then I am going to say he was the BEST heavyweight at that time. Did he dodge Cro Cop? Did he dodge Big Nog? What about Mark Coleman? All of these guys were at their primes (maybe not Coleman) and he soundly beat them. Don't say he dodged anyone, sure maybe recently he has, but that doesn't discredit his past achievements. Once again I ask you to name me ONE heavyweight who was more dominant in 2001-2007, but you CAN'T. Please save yourself from the embarrassment. 16 wins by submission, 8 by knockout. Former Pride Heavyweight Champion. Get at him.

I was under the impression that he was just doing them a favor :p

Lol you think Sylvia is a better fighter than Fedor? Who won the fight? They're both the same age, no excuses there. He won. If you ask anyone who knows anything about MMA they will tell you hands down Fedor is better than Sylvia. I think you need to watch more MMA, or just stop talking about it.

My point was he dodges people when they're in their prime, Sylvia being an example of this. They fought years later when Sylvia was a has-been. The "best" wouldn't and shouldn't dodge fights. Fedor was better 5 years later, but during 02/03 and maybe 04 definately not.
