alec Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I tend to use Drop sets if I'm in that mood. I usually don't go all out like little scott herman and do one for every exercise I do, but during most ones like Dumbell press, military dumbell press, and sometimes barbell curls. It wears you down a bit and I tend to just like and start light and get heavy as I can. More feeling in the workout and I feel a better way to workout in general. I change it up ;)
Craig Posted March 16, 2011 Author Posted March 16, 2011 Haha, everyone knows about Scott Herman now eh? Hes alright but he made a 300 workout video and couldnt even do 25 pull ups as a oner. I wouldnt even consider making a fitness sight if i couldnt do that. I like pyramid sets to be honest but i also think drop sets are useful to always work to full potential.
Tango_Oscar Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Drop sets are good but better towards the end of the session for a big burn/pump.
I Meleed I Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Drop sets shouldn't be done frequently, more to overcome a plateau as they shock the muscles, doing them too often will just overwork the muscles (in-particular for arms). As Tango said they're to be done at the end of the session too. But if you do them every so often they can be really effective. That aside, I prefer pyramid sets personally.
