Soap's Goals (w/ pics..)

Hey everyone it's soap, as some of you may know I race karts, most of you may think this is a fuck about sort of thing, but no it isn't really. (the class i race in does around 85mph)

Karters need to be fit enough to be able to withstand 1-3G's of force whilst going round corners and decent arms/hands to be able to last 20 laps without them hurting too bad.

Some karting pictures:

Each class in karting has a weight limit, my classes weight is 148kg(Driver&Kart)

My kart weighs roughly 85kg so I need to be 63kg to be on the weight, and right now I'm around 68kg.

Recently I started going to the gym 2/3 days a week doing some lifting/cardio. After a week or 2 I noticed nothing was happening weight wise, my arms were alot bigger as were other parts of my body.

Now i have decided to use the treadmill at home and just concentrate on cardio, results have shown in a week and a bit.(2kg loss)

Pics of me right now: (Don't flame I know I'm not ultra fit but you guys like pictures..)

Traps (2/4/11) - Not sure if everyone has this amount of muscle here.

Basically the point of this topic is showing my goals, and updating them..

What I'm doing right now is every night when I get home I'm on the treadmill either:

40 min brisk walk (around 4mph)

30 min 3mph walk with jogs inbetween(6-7mph)

20 mins, 1 min walk warmup then jogging at 6-7mph for 18 mins then a 1 min warm down, this comes to around 2 miles ran and i don't stop inbetween, i run through the stich.

What I eat/drink

Morning - Corn flakes/Tea/still water/soda water

Lunch - Bread roll/Soda water/still water/cheese sandwich/tuna roll(Yes I know carbs+Protein is bad but school food is so bad for healthiness)

Dinner - Boiled potatoes with Green beans and Boiled carrots/Beans on toast/slice of Toast with margarine/nothing

I would like it if trolls etc would leave this be since if I just get trolled/teased/flamed then i'll just close this thread.

Thanks in advance

-Soap.

Diet is key. Without a proper diet your exercising is a waste of time weight wise.

Good luck with your goals.

I'll watch the topic and keep the trolls out.

Haha you had the same body type I did about a year ago m8 :)

Your schedule looks good just remember to eat healthy and drink a lot of water. Cut out the cookies/soda/shit food, you won't go anywhere if you do your brisk walk shit then come home and some ice cream. It all adds up.

Mind telling me your lifting routine at the gym?

So your aim is to lose 5kg?

All depends on the diet bro, I lost a stone of body weight simply by cutting out soda/processed foods and takeaways and changing it to wholemeal foods / lean meat.

I'd recommend you still do weights though it helps lose weight so much better when combined with cardio, and it could have some positive benefits, like grip for example? I'm not sure what karting requires haha!

Good luck with your progress regardless.

High fibre diet, that plus a lot of power-walking (actually burns more calories than a slow run) on a treadmill using fat burn rather than manual mode, and of course do some running/rowing machine too.. results will be huge and fast

Edit: as stated above light free-weights are amazing for fat burning too

Yeah I know what you mean, Started becoming aware of how many calories are in everything, it's fucking disgusting. I stopped going to the gym like I said above, just cardio at home.

That's my aim, yeah.

Yeah I added in the food I eat during the week, And i've got a pull up bar and 5kg dumbells at home so i could probably use them?

I will look into this high fibre diet, problem with eating foods like this is school provides food that they think are healthy such as: Bacon mayonnaise baguette, or a pizza and a SALAD, which everyone knows makes it that much healthier!

I'll do more running than jogging then i guess, and I'll definately do weights then.

More powerwalking than jogging bro, sticking a little salad on anything makes it a little better of course but id totally avoid heavy foods like bread if you really want to lose that last bit of weight quick, and if you do fancy bread make sure its wholemeal just little things like that and ofc cutting snacking is good, sounds like a state of the obvious but only eat when you're hungry, grill anything that can be grilled before you eat it etc, gl man <3

Try going out and actually running rather than treadmill running, it's better for killing dem calories.

I would, but everywhere around me is on a hill, I prefer running on level ground not steep hills.

The harder you work, the more you burn.

Very true, but it's more the down hill that pisses me off, i've got to constantly slow myself down and my feet hit the ground alot harder, and after a while this does hurt. up hill's no problem for me though.

hmm why don't you try some HIIT (High intensity interval training) with your routine, its great for losing fat whilst retaining muscle and yields faster results in my experience. Also keep that weightlifting up and keep your carbs clean (ie no simple carbs like white bread). Try and have most your carbs in the morning mid-day always having good lean protein (chicken, shakes, turkey, lean beef, cottage cheese, eggs etc...) gl man :nice:
