Tango_Oscar Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Converse at the gym.... There's nothing wrong with that They provide no protection for the foot. use crosstrainers or something. Im sick to fuck of seeing people in fashion footwear especially plimmies trying to squat. I hope they break an ankle
Acclaimed|Jordan Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 i thought weight lifting shoes are meant to be flat footed and seriously.. are we really arguing about the guys shoes? What are we coming to..
Mr-G-Maul Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 i thought weight lifting shoes are meant to be flat footed and seriously.. are we really arguing about the guys shoes? What are we coming to.. Its because someone else has posted a vid of them doing something others cant :) and they nit pick and find minor faults, even though this forum is about supporting people :)

It's better to lift in flat soled shoes, especially when preforming deadlifts and squats.
S 6 I 6 N 6 Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 The closest thing to bare foot-like shoes are either those crossfitfaggytime shoes Vibram 5 Fingers, wrestling shoes or converse. Some gyms don't let you go barefoot, like my gym.. so i choose converse.
Luke Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 I was gonna comment on the converses, but the entire population of these forums has beaten me to it...
Pistachio Posted May 23, 2011 Author Posted May 23, 2011 The whole point of wearing converse is because they are an alternative to buying actual lifting shoes which could be a tad bit expensive. Converse are an efficient and rather inexpensive shoe to wear for lifters. They are flat and have a no compressible sole which allows for an easier transfer of energy than if you were to wear standard running shoes that most people wear to the gym.
