Marc|Criti Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 I tend to question everything I hear so i thought about this question: why would we live longer if we ate healthier? looked up death causes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_causes_of_death_by_rate here are the top causes ( by % of all deaths) Cardiovascular diseases Infectious and parasitic diseases Ischemic heart disease Malignant neoplasms (cancers) Cerebrovascular disease (Stroke) Respiratory infections Lower respiratory tract infections Respiratory diseases Unintentional injuries HIV/AIDS Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease Perinatal conditions Digestive diseases Diarrhea diseases Intentional injuries (Suicide, Violence, War, etc.) Tuberculosis Malaria Lung cancers Road traffic accidents Childhood diseases where is "i didn't eat enough fruits and died" ? So even if you eat junk food every day, you're probably going to die from something else... and if not, you will probably still live long enough (I don't want to end up as a 110 year old parasite who needs to be diapered 5 times a day) Here's what I learned today @@@ eat what you want since you will probably die before your bad eating habits kill you ---------- THIS DOES NOT APPLY FOR MORBIDLY OBESE PEOPLE ------------ thoughts?

My point was that as long as you don't become obese, you can eat pretty much whatever you want. I'm sure I'd die from cigarettes before junk food so I'd have to agree that the cause of death would be something else way before the food

It's quite obvious that it does. you either haven't read anything i've said, or haven't understood a word... edit: and joe: Eating badly means you get fat wrong. I eat what I want, which includes a lot of fast food, and I'm really thin. fat clogs arteries causing early death. wrong again. You will either die from something else before, die old from clogged arteries (which could be caused by so many other factors) You could also die from clogged arteries which would be caused not by bad food eating habits but by genetical illness that will give you cholesterol/diabetes anyways... And most people who die from those clogged arteries are obese, case i do not cover.

Marc, it's probably the human mind most of the time. Thinking of all those factors that can get you something, while you are not even sure that you are going to get a single disease. Lets say clogged arteries, it can be cause by a dang lot of things. But people tend to think, 'hey, if I eat healthy I'll have less of a chance to get it'. It's quite funny, but quite fucked up aswell. You can work your ass off all day, working out, eating healthy, getting your body in shape. But you can still end up with cancer, getting hit by a bus, getting shot by a stray bullet ( just sayin random things ). Conclusion: Don't think about either to much, don't think "hey I dont give a fuck i'll do w/e I want", and don't think "I'm gonna dedicate my life to living good and healthy". Just live yo life and do your own thing. well that's why I think atleast B) :p

I eat healthily and I workout but I also smoke tobbacco daily, drink occasionally and somke bud from time to time lol. So you need to have a healthy life style to live longer imho. Be sensible and enjoy the moment. If you ate whatever you wanted, you would probably die of lung cancer before you get a heart attack from the food you ate.
