Sefket Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Posted 5/17/11 2:15 pm ET by Josh Wigler SOURCE It's a commonly known rule in horror movie lore that the killer always comes back for one last scare. In the case of the "Scream" series, the killer's come back for four scares now… but after a financially underwhelming debut for "Scream 4," has Ghostface put down the knife once and for all? Don't bet on it, says Harvey Weinstein. The Weinstein Company chief, who has executive produced every edition of the "Scream" franchise to date, is quite confident that the genre-defying series has more life in it beyond "Scream 4." "I'm sure [director Wes Craven is] going to do a sequel, I'm sure he's going to do a sequel," Weinstein insisted when we spoke with him at the Cannes Film Festival last week, stressing that while "Scream 4" didn't perform fantastically in the United States, it's doing quite well overseas. "Foreign [sales] are so strong that we'll do over $100 million worldwide," said Weinstein. "It's at $90 now, with about five or six major countries to go and a lot of small ones. We'll probably do $110 million." "I wish it would have been better domestically," he confessed, "But it's not the worst thing in the world that's ever happened." For what it's worth, Craven himself has expressed his desire to make two more "Scream" movies, which would work alongside "Scream 4" to create a brand new trilogy. "When I had my first conversation with [screenwriter Kevin Williamson] about this whole thing, he had an idea for a new trilogy," he told us last month. "And I think that was Bob Weinstein's thing also about waiting so long — if there were to be a 'Scream 4,' there would also probably be a 'Scream 5' and a 'Scream 6' sooner or later so we could construct a new trilogy that kind of stood on its own." YEAH BUDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDY
Sefket Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 PLEASE JUST STOP MAKING THESE MOVIES! =] You said you liked the 4th one, you noob.
G-Falo Son Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Their on the verge of overdoing it just like the SAW's. It the same repetive things, I mask, a knife, and killing. SAW- Kidnapping, tortures, a game, and one guy who has to try to save everyone. There's a time to quit and I think it's the time for the both of them. they both can clearly write and direct good movies so I'd say enough witht he old and just begin working on a whole new great series as the ones the brought us before
Grifte Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Please just stop these topics lol, just like an applicant repeating the same mistake he's making
