Got a party to go to so if I die hopeully it will be in my sleep so I don't have to deal with a major hangover.

Nah real talk nothing will happen, christfags be trippin'

nothin to do with christfags

It's all to do with christfags?? Lmao.

No, it's a few bad apples in a bunch that ruin it for all. Can't judge billions of people on the actions of a few individuals.

But everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.

not a single catholic friend of mine had even heard about this.

Rapture/Judgement Day was supposed to happen today, which is where Gods "chosen people" would get to heaven and catastrophic events would plague the earth leading to the end of humanity on 21/10/11. It was calculated because the bible says Jesus would return 7,000 days after the great flood with Noah etc. Which is today. The earthquake part was bollocks it didn't say anything about that.

do you seriously believe anybody except god freaks have read the bible enough to know this?

do you seriously believe this small amount of people actually believe that part of the bible (if they believe anything at all in it)?

to me Harold Camping is just another attention whore who failed to predict the end of the world for the second time.

If his sources were reliable, would he have failed the first time? would the bible predict multiple ends of the world?

The stories in the bible aren't meant to be 100% true, for the old testament at least (new testament is supposed to be true...)

It's about the life lessons they give etc.

I won't explain this once again, there already is a topic where I kept repeating the same thing in 1000 different ways, nobody cared reading.

But some people (like you) are constantly attacking religion and the bible... What are you trying to prove? In fact, it seems to me that you are the ones obsessed with god. Isn't that a sign that you are totally lost, or maybe you think it's cool to go against religion?

BTW I'm a bad catholic, don't really believe in a god and even less in the catholic's god, so don't bother pointing out every googled incoherence you can find on the bible, idc.

Well to follow a religion is to believe in a God, "giant man living in the sky" is of course ludacris, but it's just as ludacris as religion in general. People like yourself follow religion and defend it but choose what parts to follow, it just shows how much faith you actually have in it.

In fact I don't follow religion, but I have my own reasons.

But the over-used simplistic argument of the giant man just doesn't describe what a god is.

I guess even wikipedia could teach you a few things today:

God is most often conceived of as the supernatural creator and overseer of the universe. Theologians have ascribed a variety of attributes to the many different conceptions of God. The most common among these include omniscience (infinite knowledge), omnipotence (unlimited power), omnipresence (present everywhere), omnibenevolence (perfect goodness), divine simplicity, and eternal and necessary existence.

he's not "in the sky", he's not "giant", he's not "a man".

being a man would not make him perfect, and god is supposed to be perfect.

The fact that you know so little about religion but talk so much makes me cringe.

Do.Some.Research.

Again you're completely fucking retarded, he is mostly perceived as a "man living in the sky". That is how he is shown to kids when they learn about religion and that's what most people choose to see God as.

All you have to do is look at google images.

You've gone from a pretty chilled guy to an argumentative douche bag in almost every post you make, I mean even in the other thread where someone spoke of meeting with their dad for the first time in years you tried to create an argument.

Do.Some.Research.

do you seriously believe anybody except god freaks have read the bible enough to know this?

do you seriously believe this small amount of people actually believe that part of the bible (if they believe anything at all in it)?

to me Harold Camping is just another attention whore who failed to predict the end of the world for the second time.

If his sources were reliable, would he have failed the first time? would the bible predict multiple ends of the world?

I'm not superstitious, I.Don't.Want.To.Do.Some.Research.On.Something.I.Know.Is.Bullshit.

I'm hella drunk typing this so allow me... I know it's bullshit my point was that the bible is saying shit will happen and it's not happened/happening. The bible has officially failed so why do people still believe !?

And people like you constantly defend it even after something the bible claimed was going to happen hasn't.

I'm not defending the bible, just the religion, even though I don't really believe in it.

Anyone with half a brain knows that the bible isn't giving us history/future lessons, but LIFE lessons.

Retards who only learned about the bible through wikipedia and www.letsbeatheistscozitscool.com need to stfu.

I didn't know life lessons could get people to believe in a giant man living in the sky. The bible offers life lessons that could be matched by a few episodes of the Jeremy Kyle show.

So you sum up christianism or any religion by saying "they believe in a giant man living in the sky TROLOLOL noobs".

The concept of god is too abstract to be properly explained to kids, vulgarisation is needed. It's also easier for people to believe in what they can imagine, and they often do so. But it seems that you stopped at the 5 year old's idea of what is a god.

too bad.

and IMO, arguing is better than having sterile conversations

BTW I'm a bad catholic, don't really believe in a god and even less in the catholic's god, so don't bother pointing out every googled incoherence you can find on the bible, idc.

So you sum up christianism or any religion by saying "they believe in a giant man living in the sky TROLOLOL noobs".

>go back to /b/

The concept of god is too abstract to be properly explained to kids, vulgarisation is needed. It's also easier for people to believe in what they can imagine. But it seems that you stopped at the 5 year old's idea of what is a god.

too bad.

Because a 5 year old is responsible for all those images and paintings similair that are in the vatican, right? Most adults see him as a big man living in the sky.

this isn't going anywhere. I'm out

It stopped going anywhere when you confirmed what I was saying is true, most people believe God to be a big man in the sky. Fin.

It's dumb to even try to debate with atheists. It doesn't go anywhere. I've been arguing with atheists for as long as I've been on the internet. I've heard better arguments on the side of atheists. In fact, I've never even heard of the man in the sky argument. But, I guess they're finding points of view?

I don't want to argue because as pointed above it goes NOWHERE. I just want to throw in my two cents.

Let people believe in what they want to believe in. What is so wrong with the Christian message of love? Equality? Charity? Forgiveness? Sympathy? Life? We aren't in the middle ages where people are being burned at the stake for their beliefs. I don't see why atheists insist upon bashing every hint of Christianity or any other religion. Christian charity services are making a positive impact in the world, feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, and giving people hope.

Sure, the Church isn't perfect. There have been a lot of mess ups, etc. But overall, how could you possibly put down the actions of charities around the world spreading happiness around?

Sure, maybe I don't have the proof you want. I have FAITH.

But, if you want to read I suggest you look up the Incorruptibles on Google. You'll be amazed.

Or I'm sure you've heard of the Shroud of Turin, which still today is being baffled over by scientists.

Just my two cents ya kno'. :ahhh:
