Berniej Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Yo guys, Lately my push-ups are getting fuckin' boring, been doing the same old thing for a long time now. And I feel like it's getting almost pointless doing those.. I have to do a dang lot of push ups to feel it in my arms.. I'm not the person who goes and does 100 push ups until he feels it, don't got that patience lol. So my question is, does anyone know a way how to make my push-ups more heavy? I thought it was a good way to keep working on my chest and arms at same time, if you got a replacement exercise ( THAT I CAN DO AT HOME, I DO NOT FITNESS!! ) I would like to hear it :). Thanks in advance.
Shiny Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 like that or if you dont have any weights at home you can improvise with other items
Steroids Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 lol its extremely pointless. you think doing them is building your chest/tri's but its ONE exercise, and its a bodyweight exercise for fat people. people who actually build their chest/tri's do about 5 chest exercises (3-4 sets on each), and 3 tricep. and they do low reps and actually use weights. join a gym. and before you say, "bro i just want toned and abit bigger arms/chest, dont wannt get jacked!". any decent change in your pyhsique requires you to actually take it seriously.

Its not for fat people really... go to a boxing gym they dont use free weights they do circuits its more for cardio and muscular endurance then building yourself up. Yeah alex if you wnna get bigger join a gym or buy a set of free weights and you will be sorted:)
Berniej Posted May 23, 2011 Author Posted May 23, 2011 I got fuckin loads of weights lol. I got 2 drumbells with adjustable weights, like a damn lot :/. My dad gave me all of his. Plus I got a metal lift bar that I can put weights on + a bench to lay on and shit. ^ That might be a good replacement for push ups am I right? I got the stuff, just need to know how to build up :/. And I'm still not going to the gym, just not my thing guys..

Berniej Posted May 23, 2011 Author Posted May 23, 2011 Alright, thanks for the help guys. I will definitely check it out. Yeah before I just was to lazy to do more exercises lol. I do abs, chest and biceps now. I should do more indeed. Kinda stupid cuz this equipment has been sitting here for a while now >.<. Can do loads with what I have.
Smush Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 You're obviously just doing regular pushups. Mix it up man. Wide grip, diamond, etc. If you really want a challenge, then just wear a backpack with lots of books. L2Mixup.

Can you get access to a gym, it isnt much more expensive than buying all the equipment and better

Thanks for the tips Steroids, found loads of work outs I can do on that website! @Kofte, Btw I got a adjustable barbell + bench, 2 dumbbells, exercise ball ( useful but lame :P ), like 100kg in weights (from 5 to 1kg weights. So I think I'm settled for most workouts. Don't need to buy extra things. What leg exercise would you think will be good for a beginner?
Steroids Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 squats are key, leg extensions, calf raises etc. all of which you will struggle with, unless access to a gym.
Azburn Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 when your doing push ups, try to hold as low as you can to tense it up
