Scotty|w0rst Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I see this becoming a trend on movies that do just ok in theaters. http://news.cnet.com/8301-31001_3-20006314-261.html Summary: Hurt Locker producers sue 5,000 people for illegally downloading their movie. If each person pays the 2,000 fine and not go to jail, that is pretty much lost money from making the movie. I can see this becoming a trend.
antO Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 ohh mang!! i dont like streaming =/ tvshows should be alright though aye? HIMYM FTW.
Jesus Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Interesting, would suck to get sued for something like that tbh
Blitz Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I just downloaded the whole Mighty Ducks trilogy :3 But yeah with recent movies your best going to fastpasstv and seeing if it's on there, streaming > downloading.
X0 Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 So we can still stream movies though, right? oh sefket.. And dam didnt kno they got so mad about it
Gareth l Rare Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Yeah a few directors have done this but its soo much effort for them to do and track that not many others bother genially everyone knows the risk they take when they do things illegally i just stream as its safer and if its shit quality i can stop after 2mins of loading instead of downloading 25% of the movie and going on a mad one.....
Xnce Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 ive torrented 200+ movies including hurt locker and havent gotten anything, also if you read comments on torrents theyll tell you if its being tracked, anddd you can remove all trackers on a torrent which might slow it down a bit but you wont get caught.

Also they named some Joe's which is basically they dont know the identity of the people yet.
d72 Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 There was a torrent site that released a statement regarding the lawsuits that actually makes a lot of sense... They said that, if the company were to sue everybody who pirated the movie for the amount they wanted from each individual, they would achieve a grand total of $20m, when the movie only made somewhere around 15m at the box office. lol
