d72 Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 I would care, but I really don't any more. Apparently Detroit isn't moving to the East because Gary Bettman is a fucking dickface, but I'm happy because it means that I'll be able to buy a Winnipeg Byfuglien jersey :D
Luke Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 If bettman moves Detroit he's dumb... I figured Phoenix to be moving, but I was fairly confident that Winnipeg was getting a team after this season. Not shocked it's Atlanta. Their fan base is just awful, though. It's not a hockey town and it never will be. It's funny they're giving Winnipeg a team back though, because the Jets just did so well... Also, the old owners are holding on to the name "Thrashers", so it'll be Winnipeg ______ or Manitoba ______. And I'd hold off on realigning the league. They already said Winnipeg will play in the east conference this year. Rumor is Dallas might be sold soon, it would be great if they bring the stars to Hartford, and just switch Hartford/Winnipeg to keep the conferences even.
d72 Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Wow you kids are fucking retarded... Obviously the topic has nothing to do with you by how you're acting, so why are you spamming? Your useless opinions don't mean shit in regards to the discussion, nor does it sway my opinion in any way towards hockey considering the fact that it's a terrific sport. Get the fuck out if you don't like it, nobody cares about what you have to say. Luke: Yeah, I was definitely convinced that Phoenix was moving until Glendale did a 180 and paid for the team again lol... Like yeah, sure they've made the playoffs 2 years in a row now, once again it's not a marketable hockey town. I've always wanted to see Detroit move into the east, but I could live with it if it didn't happen. Although I've been hearing rumors that Winnipeg/Manitoba's going to be in the west while Nashville or Columbus are going to be moving to the east, which could make shit interesting. As for another move, honestly I wouldn't be surprised of Quebec acquired either Phoenix or whoever else over Hartford considering they were pushing for the Nordiques to return not too long ago :p
Luke Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Yeah plus Canadians are actually patriotic in the sense of supporting sports teams, so pretty much the entirety of Canada would support another Canadian franchise (in Quebec City or Hamilton) whereas in America you only get regional support. Still I miss the whalercanes. This is just a prediction, but I think the league is going to look into reorganization, and another non-hockey market city is going to lose their franchise (Florida, Dallas, Columbus etc.) and they'll have to start all over. Also, just for the sake of everyone else is in the league, we should make the Islanders an AHL team, and give an better city with an AHL team a shot in the NHL. Shwing.
