To many threads being made, and there way is to many people on forums. Okay, let me explain this for everyone that thinks that's the reason. A "Server" is a computer. They are called Dedicated servers. They have nothing on them but usually "Windows Server 2008" or 2003. Basicly, to host "RuneScape" they install JDK, and most likely some SVN to keep it up-to-date with the mainframe. Then they put the runescape source onto the dedicated server, (Which you access through Remote desktop btw), and they run it. So say you have a Dedi with 15GB of ram (Not too uncommon in dedi's)? That could easily hold 2k people on it, with not that much lag. <3.

I'm sure they have adequate servers on their forum too, it's not like this hasn't happened before. The reason why the worlds are crashing are at this point private, so there's no point speculating about an unusual amount of forum users. If it was that easy to crash RuneScape servers then we'd all be in the RuneScape forums hitting F5 lol.
