is there any vitamin /supplement that slows your metabolism down? because I'm drinking 2 protein shakes a day and STUFFING my face like crazy.. then I work out HARD in the gym to not gain ANY weight, infact, since I started eating more healthy I've lost 5 lbs, I do look a bit more fit, but I'm trying to bulk as much as possible, I can always cut later on..

any suggestions? and no I don't count calories ect not only do I not know how to, but I just cba .... I'm down to 170 now... HALP!!!

try increasing your calorie intake by 10% , it isn't that hard to count calories. Try making a meal plan where you hold on to if necessary.

If you are making gains with how much you can lift etc, does it really matter if you arent putting on weight?

Hmm you sound like a hard gainer, but I suggest eating 5-6 meals a day, maybe force yourself to eat that many times a day and up your caloric intake, make sure the food is relatively healthy, don't dirty bulk.

I don't count calories myself, since I don't consider myself a hard gainer, but you should start counting calories.

Either that or you're not giving your body enough time to rest and you just constantly go to the gym.

i hate you, i have a super slow metabolism so i'm eating 1800 cals a day at 6'3 and doing 1-2 hrs of cardio a day and it's still taking forever

i actually found out about 5 minutes ago that i can't go to the gym for the next month. i'm having heart complications again and i have to go off of my meds and wear a heart monitor for the next month starting friday.. i'll try eating double meals a day like you suggested, i was REALLY contemplating  doing a dirty bulk since i can shed lbs FAST but now since i can't work out basically at all, i'll just sit around and stuff my face with healthy-ish food for a month and try to bulk up as much as possible, then once i go back on my meds i'll cut..

fml man.. fml

edit: the worst part about having heart complications is that after the 1 month of wearing the monitor it's a good possibility that i'll either need open heart surgery, or need to have a pace maker put in.. both of which would seriously inhibit me from working out for a few extra months..

What's a dirty bulk?

It's exactly how it sounds. Basically eating whatever you want in excess. So burgers, pizza, fast food, candy, pretty much any type of junk food you can think of is fair game. It's bad cause of all the excess sodium and saturated fats.

And if you really wanna gain weight eat brown rice all day everyday..eat it with everymeal..

brown rice it is! and i'm moving back to cali in like a week, so i'll be having REAL home cooked meals again #excitedmuch

i'm just hoping that i won't need surgery because like i said, minimal recovery time from any open heart procedure is like 3 months...

Brown rice is nasty. Just eat anything whole wheat as far as carbs go. And if you have a smartphone there's a Calorie Counter app on their by fatsecret that's pretty sweet.

Brown rice is the best.

If you arent gaining, you arent eating enough. I have moved up to around 5000 cals a day because of sports all day in summer, thinking about even eating more.

Today I ate 4 slices of pizza, two bowls of ice cream, and hotdogs :) Having to eat a little dirty to hit my cals because after 3500 cals clean im about to explode

rofl no candy! thats just going to make u turn into an unhealthy fat man, thats not what dirty bulking is.

That's why you shouldn't dirty bulk, it's going to turn you into an unhealthy fat man. People dirty bulk  because it's easy calories so they just eat whatever is in sight to get extra carbs, fats, and proteins from whatever source. So yes, candy bars do fall in the line with that unless you have a different definition.

no lol. candy is EMPTY calories. burgers/pizza's etc, the typical dirty bulking foods, are full of carbs/protein.

5 pizza's a day gets the metabolism away.

the thing is, is that I CAN eat a large pizza to myself in a sitting.. I might not win a pizza eating race, but I can and have done it.. but when I do that I usually only have one more small meal during the day.. I've heard from some people that eating a big Carb filled meal right before bed is also a good way to pack on lbs... but I all end up with is heartburn and a huge dump in the morning... 

going to the store tomorrow, anyone care to make some dirty bulk suggestions...?

Candy as in sweets/lollies like lollipops, skittles etc is what I think roids is referring to.  Chocolate is another story.

yeh lol. and you pick a snickers just because nuts = protein.

even so, not good dirty bulking food.. u see the carbs, all sugar lol.
