What motivates you to workout?

I was tired of being tallish and scrawny and I was bored so I decided to hit the gym.

It's a great way to kill time, feel good, and also look great.

I'm not gonna lie, I was motivated after seeing movies such as Fight Club, Never Back Down and watching that TV show Spartacus, and I was like hey why not, I can do that too. UFC was also a big motivating factor because those guys are jacked.

I'm curious to see things that motivated you guys to go the gym. Was there any specific reason or event that caused you to go?

And for those who don't do any physical activity, who lurk these parts, maybe you can get motivated as well. It's summa time.

Ever since I was 14-15 I've wanted a six pack as well as to be semi buff n toned.   I'm 19 now and I've only started working out/eating right seriously since March.  My lifestyle seems better with the addition of working out 4-5 times a week and eating right; I feel much better on a whole.  I think my motivations have changed from wanting just the look to living and wanting the healthy life style with the few exceptions of fun here and there.  I'm not up to the point of taking supplements yet but I'm starting to consider them.

supplementation heaps reach goals and it is effective :)

i would recommend on taking a good quality whey protein, multivitamin, fish oil/flaxseed oil to begin with.

ps: bodybuilding.com is an excellent source of information for all fitness and health related topics.

Great replies guys and dang Assassin, you got hugeee forearms.

And yeah I've noticed I feel a lot better when I eat healthy and workout hard.

As TT says, i dont really need motivation cause i love it.

However i strive for personal improvement and perfection, so unless my body is perfect, which it will never be haha then i can't see myself stopping

Got bit by the iron bug...but other than that for girls and especially this girl I go back to see in Cali every year (moved away from there)
