Tom (Rendition) Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Basically Lat pull ups are supposed to primarily be a back/lateral exercise right? But I always only really feel it in the shoulders. What am I doing wrong?
Reevesy Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 they strengthen the shoulder joint too tom. ur shoulder joint is obv weaker than ur back... as most peoples are.. work your rotator cuffs, they are only tiny muscles, also dont forget to workout mid/rear delts.
Tango_Oscar Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 They used to hurt my shoulders, now they hurt my wrists. Unfortunately you're only as good as your weakest muscle/joint :(
Steroids Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 i've never felt that exercise in my shoulders, if i add alot of weight i can only feel it in my biceps. think its a shit wannab compound exercise altogether.

Smush Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I ditched the lat pull up and started doing variations of actual pullups and chinups.

Steroids Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 www.muscleandstength.com workouts - back exercises. theres like 50 there lol.
Reevesy Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 btw u said lateral pullup, dumb cunt lol, mainly what i do is, deads, either underhand pulldowns or a hammerstrength pulldown, followed by hammerstrength high row and cable low row, usually. lots of rows will help ur bench get stronger too. THICKNESS OF THAT BACK YO
Kofte Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Never hurt in my shoulders but make sure to imagine your hands as fish hooks and "bring your shoulders together" Pull Ups are better than Pull downs imo Other Back are any type of rows, chin ups, deadlifts (hyperextensions if your a pussy), rack pulls
